Among Us infiltrates the world of TV with an upcoming animated series

Among Us took the world by storm at the perfect time: when we were all stuck inside and paranoid about Imposters (family members) betraying us (swiping the last bit of edible food out of the fridge). Now, the hit multiplayer game will infiltrate the world of television, as developer Innersloth have teamed up with CBS’ animation crew to work on a new series based on the game.

Round Up: The Reviews Are In For Sonic Origins Plus

Classic Amy is here.

Sonic Origins Plus made its debut on the Nintendo Switch and multiple other platforms last week – adding Amy as a playable character along with 12 Game Gear titles.

Now, as part of the game’s launch, the critic reviews have been released. Here on Nintendo Life, we gave the DLC six out of ten stars. While the overall package is strong, this update is admittedly a bit light on content:

Nintendo Aims To Reduce Scalping Of “New Hardware”

Furukawa says company will bolster stock & take “other” measures.

Console manufacturers have struggled with supply shortages since the pandemic, and what made the situation even worse at the time was scalpers buying out whatever was in stock and reselling it online at much higher prices.

The Switch has also been the victim of this, and now Nintendo wants to make sure history doesn’t repeat itself with its “next generation machine”. In the same shareholder Q&A, Nintendo president Shuntaro Furukawa acknowledged past situations with worldwide shortages.

Four Sega Genesis / Mega Drive Games Have Been Added To Switch Online’s Expansion Pack

Ghouls ‘n Ghosts and more!

Nintendo has just added four more games to the Sega Genesis / Mega Drive app for the Switch Online Expansion Pack service. The latest editions include The Revenge of Shinobi, Ghouls ‘n Ghosts, Landstalker and Crusader of Centy.

  • The Revenge of Shinobi is nothing to take lightly, especially when this ninja packs a brutal arsenal of shurikens and ninjitsu skills. A sequel to SEGA’s classic arcade game, this action side-scroller plunges you into the role of Joe Musashi as he stalks and attempts to annihilate – if you’re up to the task – the evil Neo Zeed criminal network. Have faith: The power of the ninja is strong.
  • Ghouls ’n Ghosts besets you with marauding demons: scythe-wielding skeletons, sickle weasels and evil princes that crawl from beneath the mud. You must fend them all off to defend the kingdom and manage to do it without losing your shirt in the process … or in Arthur’s case – his suit of armor. Plus, keep your eyes peeled for the tough-as-nails enemy that also stars in Gargoyle’s Quest, the spin-off tale playable in the Game Boy – Nintendo Switch Online library!
  • Landstalker is the name, and lighthearted treasure hunting’s the game. Nigel the Forest Elf faces more delightful puzzles in this action-adventure than you can shake a custom-forged broadsword at. Journey through a fantastical realm while navigating intricate isometric mazes that bring you ever closer to the secret of King Nole’s riches.
  • Crusader of Centy tasks you with launching your razor-sharp weapon like a blazing boomerang. SLICE! Take down those invading monsters with a perfectly timed swing in this sweeping action-RPG featuring fierce enemies, a variety of towering bosses, animal companions with special abilities, time travel and a world of sorcery and intrigue to explore.

Among Us Animated Series In the Works From Infinity Train Creator and Titmouse

Three years after it exploded into a pandemic-era sensation, an Among Us animated series is in development at CBS Studios, Variety reports.

The new series will be based on the premise of the game, with a murderous Impostor sabotaging the ship, backstabbing crewmembers, and generally sowing chaos. Who will be the Impostor? Maybe we’ll find out in the season finale.

Among Us developer Innersloth is involved with the project. It is being led by Owen Dennis, who worked on Regular Show as a writer and storyboard artist before creating Infinity Train, a Cartoon Network series about an endless train filled with impossible worlds. Titmouse, the studio behind Big Mouth and Star Trek: Lower Decks, is handling the animation.

Since Among Us first exploded into the public consciousness back in 2020, Innersloth has sought to build on its popularity, including developing a VR version and participating in various crossovers. It even got its own one-shot manga. A sequel was in development, but work was abandoned in favor of reworking the original game’s codebase.

Among Us is far from the only game to explore adaptations in other media, with The Last Of Us leading the way in 2023. The ongoing trend speaks to the outsized influence that games have on popular culture, which Hollywood can seemingly no longer ignore.

Among Us does not have a release date.

Cyberpunk 2077: Phantom Liberty videos introduce Phantom Liberty’s Dogtown

Cyberpunk 2077 expansion Phantom Liberty got a new trailer and a release date during this month’s Xbox Games Showcase. If you watched Xbox’s extended showcase a few days later then you would have seen more of the game and of one of its stars, Keanu Reeves.

Let’s assume you didn’t watch that, though. Let’s assume that you, like me, were by that point too exhausted from 90 second trailers to tune in. Let’s instead watch these videos now, since they’ve just been uploaded as separate videos, to learn more about Cyberpunk 2077: Phantom Liberty’s new district, Dogtown.
