Nintendo Partner Paladin Studios Closes Its Doors After “Almost 19 Years”

“Our quest has ended”.

Netherlands indie developer Paladin, who worked with Nintendo in 2020 on the Switch eShop title Good Job!, has announced it has “closed the studio” after “almost 19 years”.

Apart from Nintendo, the 45-person studio (which began life in 2005 and peaked at 55 people at one stage) worked with various other “incredible partners” such as Apple Arcade, Netflix and Bandai Namco on franchises such as Cut The Rope, Tamagotchi and the Katamari series.

Xbox’s Survival Adventure Grounded Receives A New Update On Switch

Grounded recently made its debut on the Nintendo Switch and although the team at Obsidian has technically rolled out the final major update, it’s not done just yet.

Bloodstained: Ritual of the Night is getting yet another update on Switch later this month, bringing new modes to the game along with a number of cosmetics for protagonist Miriam.

Announced via a blog post, the information provided is described as the ‘final development roadmap’ for the game after its Switch launch in 2019. The new update will officially go live on 16th May, 2024 at 8am PDT / 4pm BST / 5pm CEST and is undoubtedly a hefty one for fans of the Metroidvania.

If you cast your mind way back to 2021, you might remember the announcement that Universal Orlando’s Super Nintendo World was getting pushed to 2025. Well, today Universal has reconfirmed that this is still happening (yay!) and it has given a sneak peek at what’s in store.

The above video gives an in-depth look at the Nintendo-themed section of the park’s Universal Epic Universe (which also has dedicated areas for Celestial Park, The Wizarding World of Harry Potter: Ministry of Magic, How To Train Your Dragon: Isle of Berk and Dark Universe). We can see the sights of the main Mario area and the Donkey Kong Country expansion as well as get a taste of the three rides which will be available: Mario Kart: Bowser’s Challenge, Yoshi’s Adventure and Mine-Cart Madness.
