Pokémon Trading Card Game Pocket Teases New Promo Cards And Events

Pokémon Trading Card Game Pocket launched on smartphone devices earlier this week, and now that it’s available, The Pokémon Company is already teasing some promo cards and events.

We don’t have specific details just yet, but it seems this first event could feature a promo Lapras EX card and a ‘Wonder Pick’ Meowth card. Here are the official words and graphic for this announcement:

‘Nintendo Music’ Update Adds Super Mario Bros. Wonder Songs

Wonderful!

Following the surprise launch of Nintendo Music on smartphone devices yesterday, Nintendo has now updated the application with Super Mario Bros. Wonder game music.

This includes music from the game’s title screen, the opening Grassland theme and of course the ‘Piranha Plants of Parade’ song. Some of these tracks can even be extended in length! All up there are 86 new songs you can listen to right now. And as long as you have an ‘active’ Switch Online sub and the app downloaded, you’re good to go!

Owlboy Dev’s Platform Shooter ‘Savant – Ascent Remix’ Blasts Onto Switch This December

We’ve been keeping an eye on Savant – Ascent Remix ever since Owlboy developer D-Pad Studio first mentioned it was returning to its debut title early last year. That planned remaster would turn into a full-blown sequel a couple of months later, with a Steam release landing in September 2023.

Well, over a year later, the studio has announced that this frantic shooter will finally make the ascent to Switch on 5th December.

Review: Pokémon Trading Card Game Pocket (Mobile) – A Breezy, Beautiful Take On TCG, Gacha Aside

Digital card games like Marvel Snap have seen a lot of success in recent years with short, satisfying matches that you can finish in a few minutes. The mobile release of Pokémon Trading Card Game Pocket almost seems like a direct answer to this trend. From uncomplicated card text to simplified rules, it axes much of the complexity of the original Pokémon TCG while still wrapping it up in an addictive collection loop that looks to have players checking their phones daily and maybe even spending real-world money on microtransactions to get more cards.

After spending a little too much time opening booster packs and battling friends and randoms, we can say TCG Pocket is as predatory as a Pidgeot stalking a Caterpie and more mesmerising than a Swoobat using Attract. On the collection side of things, at least.

Argonaut Games is working hard on launching its Croc: The Legend of Gobbos remaster for Switch, and we can now exclusively reveal that it’s currently targeting a December 2024 release window, priced at $29.99 digitally.

Toby Fox Says Deltarune Chapter 3 & 4 “Will 100% Come Out In 2025”

Following an update on the status of Chapter 5 recently, Toby Fox has now shared some news about Chapter 3 and 4 of Deltarune.

In a brief message via social media, he’s now officially confirmed that “Chapter 3 & 4 will 100%” arrive next year in 2025. This is also factoring in the localisation process as well as console porting.

‘Nintendo Music’ Is A New Mobile App Exclusive To Switch Online Members

Nintendo has launched a dedicated mobile app called ‘Nintendo Music’ for Switch Online members, allowing users to stream and download a variety of music tracks from the firm’s wide range of franchises.

Available later today, the app will contain music from new releases along with retro classics from Nintendo’s library, and also includes the ability to hide certain tracks that may contain game spoilers, as well as extend or loop tracks so you can keep listening for longer.
