It’s hard to believe that it’s been 20 years since the Nintendo DS launched, yet here we are. It’s been even longer since it was revealed too, with the newly-appointed VP of sales and marketing Reggie Fils-Aimé taking to the stage at E3 2004 to showcase Nintendo’s vision for the future of handheld gaming.

We know now, of course, that the console clutched in Reggie’s hands was a mere prototype. At the time, however, as far as many prospective customers were concerned, this was it. This was going to be the Nintendo DS that would wind up in millions of homes across the globe.

Dragon Quest III HD-2D Remake has been out for a week now and while it’s getting a lot of praise in its home country of Japan, it seems some players are struggling with the game – especially on the Switch.

As highlighted by Automaton Media, an article by Weekly Josei Prime has quoted some local player reviews of the game, and one common problem that seems to be popping up with many longtime Dragon Quest III players is the size of the text in this latest remake. Many players are claiming the “small” text is hurting their eyes.

Lollipop Chainsaw RePOP Releases A Sweet Frame Rate Update For Switch

Key scenes have been improved.

Lollipop Chainsaw RePOP didn’t arrive in the best state when it was released on the Switch and multiple other platforms in September. Fortunately, Dragami Games has been slowly improving Juliet’s zombie-hunting adventure.

With this in mind, the company’s CEO Yoshima Yasuda has now revealed the team has “finally” completed work on improving the frame rate in the Nintendo iteration. According to a translation, the team “picked out 45 scenes” where the frame rate had extreme drops and worked on reducing “processing load and decentralizing loading processes”.

Monster-Fusing RPG Cassette Beasts Lands New Game Mode And Rewards In ‘Gauntlet Update’

The creature-catching RPG Cassette Beasts has landed a bumper pack of bonus content today, publisher Raw Fury and developer Bytten Studio announced, thanks to the arrival of the ‘Gauntlet Update’ and ‘Fashion Pack’ DLC.

We’ll start with the free stuff. The Gauntlet Update brings the game up to ver 1.7, and the biggest addition, unsurprisingly, is a new gauntlet-style game mode. Hopping aboard one of Mer-line’s interdimensional trains after you’ve completed the main story will give you the chance to partake in ‘Magikrab’s Gauntlet’ — an endless series of carriage-based combat encounters where you can rack up some tasty rewards.
