Exclusive: ‘Loddlenaut’, The Chao Garden-Inspired, Ocean-Cleanup Game, Revealed For Switch

“What we’re releasing on Switch really represents our full vision”.

Whether you’re an environmentally conscious sort or you find compulsive cleaning relaxing, you’ll probably be happy to hear that Loddlenaut, which launched on Steam last November to Overwhelmingly Positive reviews, is coming to Switch on 19th September.

Dubbed “PowerWash SWIMulator” — a groan-worthy pun of the variety we’d be proud had we come up with it — this new version of indie dev Moon Lagoon’s ocean-cleanup game will come with “a major new free update” integrated (which will be launching on PC), and with influences as wide-ranging as the gorgeous Abzu and the Chao Garden from Sonic Adventure 2, it grabbed our attention despite the waves of cosy, cutesy games crashing onto Switch every week.

Video: Sakurai Looks Back On The Super Smash Bros. ‘Dojo’ Marketing Campaigns

“I chose to handle updating the website myself.

We all remember those days leading up to the launch of Smash Bros. entries like BRAWL and Ultimate; waiting for any scrap of new information on potential fighters, stages, items, and more was certainly taxing at times, but goodness, it felt like Christmas morning everytime something significant was revealed.

In his latest video, Masahiro Sakurai looks back on the creation and implementation of the ‘Dojo’ marketing campaigns for the Super Smas Bros. franchise. As he touched on in a previous video, there was an iteration of the campaign for the original N64 title, though this wasn’t particularly well known outside of Japan, and thanks to the infantcy of the internet back in those days, very little of it lived up to Sakurai’s high standards.

Round Up: Pokémon World Championships 2024 – Is The Competitive Event At A Turning Point?

Pokémon came home.

It has been 20 years since the first Pokémon World Championships took place in Orlando and in what may be a move to celebrate, the Pokémon World Championships returned to a place where it has frequently been held: Hawai’i. Soapbox: The Trauma Of Giygas & Growing Up In EarthBound

EarthBound turns “adults into kids, and kids into adults”.

Soapbox features enable our individual writers and contributors to voice their opinions on hot topics and random stuff they’ve been chewing over. Today, Nile celebrates the innocence of youth, the pain of growing up, and the magic of a cult classic SNES RPG, which celebrates its 30th anniversary on 27th August 2024…

There’s arguably no more praiseworthy label than calling a piece of media “timeless”, a product so true to its singular vision that its sights, sounds, and ethos succeed in emotionally impacting audiences across generations. Three decades on from its release, EarthBound (Mother 2 in Japan) is, for many, a game that indisputably earns the label.
