It’s been announced another racing game is joining the Switch 2 library. This time it’s Gear.Club Unlimited 3 for the Nintendo Switch 2 and it’s arriving at some point in “late 2025“.
This game will follow on from the first two games, which were released on the eShop during the original Switch generation.

The latest Nintendo Download update for North America has arrived — a few hours late, but unless you’ve been sleeping all day, you’ll know we’ve been dealing with a lot of silk(song).

While the Switch 1 version goes MIA.
Amazon Games and Glowmade have announced that their hack-and-slash co-op party platformer, King of Meat, will be heading to Switch 2 in “early 2026“.
This one was initially announced in Gamescom Opening Night Live 2024, and it even popped up in this year’s March Nintendo Direct with a 2025 Switch 1 release window. That date wasn’t meant to be, clearly, and it looks like the console might not have been either. While the likes of the PS5 and Xbox Series have landed 7th October release dates, and the Switch 2 has been given a rough window, we’ve been told that there’s no more information on a Switch 1 release for the moment. So, keep holding out hope for that one… we guess.

The Pokémon Company has revealed yet another new Mega Evolution that will make its debut in Pokémon Legends: Z-A, and it’s Victreebel being put in the limelight this time.
This classic Grass / Poison Type has been a series mainstay throughout the generations, and its new Mega design looks particularly… sweet (heh).

Take it to the max.
Gulikit has unveiled two new premium controllers at its booth in Gamescom, both of which will be fully compatible with the Switch and Switch 2.
Dubbed the TT PRO and TT MAX, the design is kind of a cross between the Xbox and PlayStation, utilising the former’s overall shape, yet shifting the left analogue stick to the bottom for a more symmetrical design. The controller was originally showcased last year as the ‘Libra MAX’, but Gulikit has since been hard at work finalising the design and specs.

Prologue demo also announced.
Falcom and GungHo have today confirmed the upcoming title Trails in the Sky 1st Chapter will be getting a Switch 2 Edition.
This particular version will be a digital release and includes higher resolution and frame rate “for sharper” and “smoother graphics”, along with reduced load times. This is part of a paid upgrade path for existing Switch owners and is priced at $1.00 USD (or your regional equivalent).

Switch 2 fixes and much more.
Following the release of Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater 3 + 4 on the Switch and Switch 2 last month, Activision and Iron Galaxy have now rolled out a major 2.0 patch.
This update adds Create-A-Park to Private Matches and addresses a “variety of issues”. There are also some fixes specific to Switch and Switch 2 versions of the game. Here’s what you can expect from this latest update:

Chibi-Robo returns.
Nintendo has today announced it will be bringing Chibi-Robo to the Switch 2’s GameCube library next week on 21st August, 2025.
This title was one of the many games confirmed alongside the reveal of the GameCube library for the Switch Online service. It originally made its debut on the GameCube in 2005/06 and was developed by the team at Skip.

Is it tarnished?
Nintendo has a pretty big booth at Gamescom this year, with a large chunk of areas dedicated to the glut of third-party ports coming to (or are already out on) the Switch 2.
One of those upcoming titles is Elden Ring: Tarnished Edition, which brings the highly-acclaimed open-world RPG from FromSoftware to Nintendo’s new console. This rerelease includes the base game, the Shadow of the Erdtree DLC, new weapons, classes, and armour. So we knew we had to try it out on the newer console.

The hugely-popular MMORPG Final Fantasy XIV — which is about to celebrate its 12th anniversary (in its rebooted form) — is one of our most-requested Switch 2 ports, particularly from this writer. And it sounds like we’re one step closer to seeing the game come to the hybrid console.
The game’s director Naoki Yoshida — better known as Yoshi-P — has spoken to VGC at Gamescom and confirmed that he and the team have been having “positive discussions” with Nintendo on the possibility of a port. Not only that, but he also wants to bring his other mainline Final Fantasy to the console, Final Fantasy XVI.
