Kingdom Eighties: Summer of Greed is the newest entry in the Kingdom micro-strategy series. Teased last year, publisher Raw Fury has now revealed that the game will be coming to consoles — including Switch — sometime in 2023.

Developed by Fury Studios, Kingdom Eighties is a fair bit different from other games in the Kingdom series. Donning a neon eighties vibe and a retro aesthetic, complete with catchy synth tunes, Kingdom Eighties is a standalone title and a love letter to summer camp, Saturday morning cartoons, and the best movies of the decade.

“We’re in this for the long haul”.

The online free-to-play battle royale Apex Legends has been going since 2019 and was only released on the Switch in 2021, but the general aim is to keep the franchise around for a very long time.

In an interview with our friends at GamesIndustry.biz, the game’s director Steven Ferreira mentioned how the team was in it for the “long haul” – with an aim to keep the IP going for possibly 15 “or more” years.

Update: Mojang resolves issue in latest patch.

Update :

An update has officially arrived for Minecraft Bedrock Edition – resolving several issues including the one that was causing the game to get stuck at 66% when loading at launch.

We’re one week away from the end of the Wii U and 3DS eShops. On 27th March, Nintendo is pulling down the shutters on both digital storefronts for good, meaning that you won’t be able to buy any more games on the two platforms.

Time flies, hm?

In decades to come, folks around the world will be telling their children and their grandchildren exactly what happened during those first few months of 2020. It was a time of great stress and uncertainty as the Covid-19 pandemic rapidly upended the lives of millions of people, with governments announcing nationwide lockdowns, businesses shutting down left, right, and centre, and the public forming orderly queues just to get into their local grocery store.

For those who play video games, there’s one title in particular (well, two if you include DOOM Eternal) that dominated the conversation during 2020 and will be mentioned in reverance years from now thanks to its profoundly positive impact during such grim times, and that’s Animal Crossing: New Horizons.

Arriving in 2023.

Ahead of the launch of Atelier Ryza 3 on Switch next week, game developer Gust has announced the first game Atelier Ryza: Ever Darkness & the Secret Hideout will be getting its very own anime adaptation.

The Japanese animation studio Liden Films (Senyu, Goblin Slayer) will be taking on the responsibility of adapting the 2019 video game entry into an anime. So far, some key art has been shared along with a teaser trailer. You can see the main cast of characters and a release date confirming it will drop at some point in 2023.
