Collecting trading cards, especially vintage cards, has gotten considerably dicier — seemingly overnight.

Over the past month, multiple people have come forward to demonstrate how various X-ray technologies can reliably see inside unopened trading card products. The concept of X-raying packs has been rumored for as long as X-rays and trading cards have existed at the same time, yet most believed the idea apocryphal, or at least impractical. Today, you can literally pay someone to do it for you.

Devolver Digital and All Possible Futures have finally shared the release date for the fabulous-looking The Plucky Squire — 17th September 2024 (thanks Wario64!)

The adorable release date trailer showcases the beautiful storybook adventure’s 2D visuals including main character Jot actually putting together the game’s release date. How cute!

Yes, we want one.

There have been some truly gorgeous video game statues in our time, from the likes of the First 4 Figures Samus Gravity Suit statue from Metroid to the ludicrous Ghosts ‘n Goblins statue from Dream Figures.

We love one-off designs though; statues that likely won’t be made available to the general public, but nevertheless showcase a level of originality that simply can’t be replicated elsewhere. And yes, we’re a little bit jealous that we can’t get our hands on them, too.

Following the arrival of the backyard sandbox game Grounded on the Switch earlier this year, Obsidian has now released a new update for the game which includes some improvements for Switch.

Patch 1.4.4 most notably includes the addition of Gryo aiming controls. Apart from this, Microsoft accounts are no longer permanently linked. Thrown in with all of this are some major fixes and various other fixes. Here’s the full rundown, courtesy of the Grounded website:

Gimmick! 2 was only announced in June, but Bitwave Games’ surprise sequel to Sunsoft’s 1992 platformer has already got a release date, and it’s less than a month away.

Gimmick! 2 will be bouncing onto Switch on 5th September 2024 — as if September wasn’t already packed enough! Yumetaro returns and continues to carry on the spirit of his first adventure, which received an enhanced re-release in 2023.
