Switch Online’s ‘Missions & Rewards’ Sees The Return Of Splatoon 3 Icons

A new wave is available.

Last week alongside some Mother 3 icons (exclusive to Japan), Nintendo revived a batch of Splatoon 3 icons globally. Now, in a new update, a another wave of these icons has returned.

This has been highlighted by ‘NSO Icons Alerts’ on social media once again. The latest wave features cartoon-like designs of Inklings, Octolings, and even some backgrounds. As usual, you’ll be able to get the icons for 10 Platinum Points and the backgrounds for 5 Platinum Points. Here’s a look:

Metal Gear Solid: Master Collection’s Next Update Comes To Switch “Late March”

Here’s what you can expect from Version 1.5.0.

Konami has today rolled out a new update for Metal Gear Solid: Master Collection Vol. 1, but the catch is it’s not actually available on the Switch yet.

When it does arrive on Nintendo’s hybrid system and other console platforms, this will bump the game up to Version 1.5.0. The current plan is to release it on these devices by “late March”.

Prince Of Persia: The Lost Crown Post-Launch Roadmap Details Future Updates And DLC

All coming in 2024.

Just when we thought we were out, they pull us back in! Ubisoft has today revealed a first look at the Prince of Persia: The Lost Crown post-launch roadmap, which lays out three free content updates and a new story DLC, all coming our way in 2024.

The first of these content updates, ‘Warrior’s Path’ will arrive next week on 20th March and will add a Speedrun and Permadeath Mode as well as a selection of new outfits for Sargon. The following two will be landing in Spring and Summer respectively, with the promise of even more outfits and a Boss Rush Mode first, and then new challenges, amulets and more later.

Summer Game Fest 2024 Gets A Date For Its Opening Live Showcase

Mark your calendars.

Get ready folks, because Summer Game Fest is once again upon us, and we’ve now got a date for the opening live showcase.

Not deviating too much from last year, the big event will commence on 7th June, 2024 live from the YouTube Theatre in Los Angeles at 2pm PT / 5pm ET / 9pm GMT / 7am AET (8th June). Public tickets for the in-person event will become available via Ticketmaster on 7th May, 2024, but the event will, of course, be livestreamed worldwide.

For whatever its name is worth, Mario Tennis doesn’t feature a lot of the red guy — at least at first. That may come as an initial disappointment to some who were drawn to the M-word. Now, if you came for the ‘tennis’ part, well, that’s a whole different story.

Capcom Shares Results Of The Monster Hunter 20th Anniversary ‘Top Monster’ Poll

And the winner is…

Hot off the back of revealing that Monster Hunter Stories will be coming to Switch this June, Capcom was keeping up with the Monster Hunter 20th anniversary celebrations as it finally shared the results of the fan-favourite ‘Top Monster’ poll which we first heard about last year.

This one put all 229 monsters in the series against each other to see which one came out on top. The above video runs down the top 20 so you can see where the likes of Shagaru Magala and Primordial Malzeno land in the rankings, but come on, it’s the top three that we all really want to know.

Penny’s Big Breakaway On Switch Is Getting A Frame Rate Update

At launch it was capped at 30FPS.

Evening Star’s new 3D platformer Penny’s Big Breakaway got off to a solid start when it arrived last month, but notably was capped at 30FPS. Fortunately, this is set to change in the next update, with developer Christian Whitehead confirming the upcoming console update will unlock the Switch frame rate.

This will allow players to choose between 30FPS and a 60FPS option. Similar to Bomb Rush Cyberfunk, it may not necessarily maintain silky-smooth performance at this frame rate, but it will at least be an option. This update will also add anti-aliasing to 30FPS.

Monster Hunter Stories Physical Collection Includes A Download Code (US)

The first game is on the card, the second game is digital.

Alongside the release date announcement for Monster Hunter Stories, Capcom revealed a “special set” containing the original game and sequel. Its official website also confirmed this “collection” would be getting a physical release in the US.

Now, in a new update, a GameStop listing featuring the official box art has revealed there’s a bit of a catch. While there will be a game card including Monster Hunter Stories, the second game will be a download voucher. Here’s exactly what the fine print says:

The Pokémon Company Sets Up A New Subsidiary Called ‘Pokémon Works’

Though its purpose is unknown.

The Pokémon Company has seemingly set up a new subsidiary in Japan called ‘Pokémon Works’ after the company was registered on 4th March, 2024.

As spotted by Serebii‘s Joe Merrick, the exact purpose of the subsidiary is unknown at this time, though it appears as though its location is in the same building as ILCA, the development company behind the likes of Pokémon HOME and Pokémon Brilliant Diamond and Shining Pearl.
