Nintendo has been freshening up all sorts of things in recent months and its Switch Online trailer has now been updated with Switch 2 footage.
This includes a look at Mario Kart World, existing Switch releases including Animal Crossing: New Horizons which just got updated, a rundown on the new feature GameChat, and a look at the library of ‘Nintendo classics’. This includes the new GameCube collection, exclusive to Switch 2.

Splatoon is now a well-established Nintendo IP and this month marks its 10th anniversary. To celebrate this very special occasion, Nintendo has added the original Wii U soundtrack to its Nintendo Music mobile application.
This latest soundtrack contains 47 tracks with a runtime of 1 hour and 28 minutes. You can listen to bangers from the Squid Sisters, other bands, and much more. Here’s every song included in this latest update for the Nintendo Music app:

“I’d love to say all Switch 2 releases from us in the future will go the full ROM route”.
Marvelous USA has been hitting the headlines for all of the right reasons in the run-up to the Switch 2’s launch next week, on 5th June 2025. The publisher is one of the few third-parties bringing a full physical release to the new console on launch day in Rune Factory: Guardians of Azuma, with Story of Seasons: Grand Bazaar and Daemon X Machina: Titanic Scion also following suit later this year (the latter only in the West).
And, in an interview with RPG Site’s Mikhail Madnani, Marvelous USA / XSEED Games CEO and co-founder Ken Berry has shared why the publisher decided to go all-in on physical on the Switch 2, at least for the time being — because it’s “this is the right decision for us and our relationship with our fanbase.”

The early bird can’t catch the worm.
It was only a matter of time after US retailers reportedly started receiving Switch 2 units, but now some are sharing screenshots of the console in their home. However, there’s a catch — the console is unable to play any games right now.
YouTube account a2dubai has shared a short unboxing video of the console (spotted by Wario64 on Bluesky), showing the console and Joy-Con-2 in the box. But in a reply to a comment on the Short, a2dubai says that Nintendo has “locked the Switch 2” saying it needs an update to function.

Be kind, rewind.
Nintendo has released a new video detailing some of the planned features for the N64 app on Nintendo Switch Online.
As shared by TodayNews, the video showcases three core features for N64 games on Switch Online, including the ability to rewind (exclusive to Switch 2), a new CRT filter (also exclusive to Switch 2), and viewing / remapping controls as you see fit.

A heavy K.O. for collectors.
Street Fighter 6 is one of the key launch titles for the Nintendo Switch 2, releasing on day one on 5th June 2025.
Digitally, you can pick up either the bog-standard edition for £34.99 or the Years 1-2 Fighters Edition for £49.99. Meanwhile, a physical release is being lined up for the latter option, also priced at £49.99. Now, we already knew that it would be a Game-Key Card release, but according to recent reports, it might also include a code-in-a-box for the additional DLC.

How is it shaping up?
Square Enix recently confirmed that Dragon Quest I & II HD-2D Remake will be launching on the Switch and Switch 2 on 30th October 2025.
As part of the Dragon Quest Day celebrations, several outlets have gone hands-on with the latest title to see how its shaping up in the months leading up to its release. It seems Square Enix provided the PlayStation 5 version for preview purposes, so we’ll have to wait and see how it holds up on Nintendo’s systems, but early accounts indicate that it’s another hit for fans of the series.

To celebrate Dragon Quest Day, Square Enix and developer Artdink Corporation have announced that Dragon Quest I & II HD-2D Remake will launch on 30th October, 2025.
Not only that, but as expected, a Switch 2 version has also been confirmed. Those who already have sava data available for Dragon Quest III HD-2D Remake will be entitled to bonus content, while those who pre-order the digital deluxe edition will also nab some sweet digital goodies too.

A new listing surfaces on the ESRB.
The Xbox developer Ninja Theory released Hellblade: Senua’s Sacrifice on the Switch eShop back in 2019, and if you’ve been holding out for a physical release on Nintendo’s platform, you might be in luck.
A new rating has been spotted on the ESRB for the Switch and it will apparently be published by the physical distributor Limited Run Games. LRG will also seemingly be handling a physical version of the second game for PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X.

The hype is real.
It’s hard to believe but the Switch 2 is out next week and naturally, excitement for Nintendo’s new kart racer Mario Kart World is on the rise.
The famous Japanese video game outlet Famitsu has shared its latest “most wanted” games list based on reader votes and this new entry in the Mario Kart series is now in the top spot – surpassing Dragon Quest 1 & 2 HD-2D Remake.
