Final Masterpiece Edition is coming this year.
Bloober Team has announced that it is releasing a new version of Layers of Fear on the Nintendo Switch 2 later this year.
Dubbed Layers of Fear: Final Masterpiece Edition, the game was announced as part of the company’s latest financial report, in which it describes the release as “a complete edition of the iconic Layers of Fear series”.

Pokémon Legends: Z-A for Switch and Switch 2 launches next week on 16th October 2025, and ahead of this highly anticipated release, there’s been a few developments…
Firstly, if you’ve purchased a digital copy of the title from the eShop, the preload should now (or at least soon) be showing up on your system’s HOME Menu. As a reminder, the Switch version of this game can also be redeemed with a game voucher in select regions. And Nintendo will be offering a paid Switch 2 upgrade for the original release as well.

Mario & Wario, Bubsy and Fatal Fury Special!
Nintendo has this week added three titles to its Switch Online SNES library. These games include Mario & Wario (requiring mouse controls), Bubsy in: Claws Encounters of the Furred Kind and Fatal Fury Special.
Three classic Super NES titles will be release on Super Nintendo – Nintendo Classics!

It takes two (consoles).
When the original Little Nightmares was released in 2017, it won praise for its fresh take on puzzle platforming horror. Its sequel upped the scare factor even further, earning critical acclaim while deepening the series’ mythos. With a new developer at the helm of its threequel, the question on everyone’s minds is whether the franchise’s third outing sticks the landing.
The answer is, ‘Yeah, sort of…’ but with some major caveats. Little Nightmares III is essentially a soft reboot for the series with an all-new storyline and lead protagonists, yet it faithfully adheres to the well-trodden gameplay formula and level design of Tarsier Studios’ earlier entries, resulting in an experience that leans perhaps too much into reiteration rather than reinvention.

Fly away on my zephyr?
Trinket Studios (Battle Chef Brigade) and Outersloth revealed their brand new and rather tasty-looking card-battler, Battle Suit Aces, a little while back, and it’s out right this very moment on the Nintendo Switch Entertainment System.
Now, if you’re feeling in any way like this particular writer, you may have just thought, ‘No, no more card-battling games – I reckon I’m all good for now, folks.’ But judging from what we’ve seen of this one, it may well be worth your time, especially if you’re into Persona-styled storylines threaded throughout battles that feature things like massive robots and gigantic monsters. Y’know, all the best things.

Starseekers Unite!
We’ve already had a very brief glimpse of System Era Softworks and Devolver Digital’s rather excellent-looking Starseeker Astroneer Expeditions during the Switch 2 Direct six months back, and now the game has gone and got itself a great big 17-minute gameplay reveal, so we can get a proper look at exactly what it entails.

The Minecraft crew join the Season Pass.
Sonic Racing: CrossWorlds was released for the Switch at the end of last month, and now in an update, Sega has locked in the first Season Pass DLC release date.
This included a teaser trailer and the confirmation that the paid Minecraft Pack will be arriving on 8th October 2025. It contains Steve, Alex and Creeper, along with a new track. This is available in the Season Pass and Digital Deluxe Edition, or you can purchase the standalone pack.

As we’ve already mentioned, October is a huge month for the Switch 2 (and Switch) with the launch of Pokémon Legends: Z-A.
So far, there’s been some Mega reveals and distribution events announced, and now Nintendo has sunk some of its marketing budget for the game into a commercial featuring the ‘Stranger Things’ star, Gaten Matarazzo.
