More to come?

Nintendo has released a new trailer to provide an overview on how Switch 2 cartridges and Game-Key Cards work (just in case the last six or seven months’ worth of discourse hasn’t already clued you in).

In it, one of the examples showcased to demonstrate the Game-Key Card is none other than Pokémon Pokopia, which has just been confirmed to launch on 5th March, 2026. The title is being published by The Pokémon Company in Japan and Nintendo in the West, which makes this the company’s first Game-Key Card release.

Let’s go, Tokyo!

Well, here’s a little something to make you smile. The Pokémon Company has today shared another look at its upcoming theme park, ‘PokéPark Kanto’, and announced that gates will open on 5th February 2026.

Tickets to this new section of Tokyo’s Yomiuriland Amusement Park will open for Japanese residents on 21st November and will be distributed by a lottery. There’s currently no information on how those of us who live in other countries can nab tickets, but the official English booking website currently hosts a “Coming Soon” message, so keep an eye out for updates in the coming months.

New update released alongside the latest firmware update.

Nintendo released a new firmware update for the Switch and Switch 2 earlier today, and as you might have seen in the patch notes, there’s quite a bit to unpack.

In case you missed it, this update actually rolls out a new patch for the Pro Controller 2. If this update isn’t automatically applied, once you’ve updated the system firmware to Version 21.0.0, head over to the System Settings from the HOME Menu and navigate to Controllers & Accessories.

Nintendo has released a new Switch 2 and Switch system update today, bumping the firmware up to Version 21.0.0.

It includes all sorts of changes, starting with such updates to the HOME Menu and additional options tied to downloads. There are also more options to find users, GameChat and Game Card-related updates, Display updates, a language update (adding Thai and Polish) and much more. Of course, there’s also the usual stability improvements.

“I’m a hungry pink puffball”.

Nintendo’s rollout of new albums for its Nintendo Music app continues this week with the release of Kirby’s Dream Buffet soundtrack.

This full-course multiplayer competition originally made its debut on the Switch eShop in 2022, and the album uploaded today contains a whopping 115 tracks, with a runtime of 4 hours and 57 minutes. We’ll add these songs to this post shortly.

The first proper trailer is coming!

Nintendo has announced a brand new Nintendo Direct focusing on The Super Mario Galaxy Movie is coming later this week.

On Wednesday, 12th November 2025 at 6am PST / 9am EST / 2pm GMT, Nintendo will be debuting the first proper trailer to the sequel to Nintendo and Illumination’s 2023 box office smash, The Super Mario Bros. Movie.

Not a huge calamity.

The latest UK Charts are in, and for some reason, we feel compelled to highlight that Bluey: The Videogame has reentered the charts at number 38 – congrats to all who celebrate.

Otherwise, yes, Hyrule Warriors: Age of Imprisonment has made its debut at number 5, coming in behind EA SPORTS FC 26, Football Manager 26, Mario Kart World, and Pokémon Legends: Z-A. It’s a decent start, but it’s clear this particular spin-off doesn’t command the same popularity as the mainline Zelda series. It’s also important to consider that there still aren’t that many Switch 2 consoles out in the wild in the UK.

Cyberpunk 2077 has had a remarkable redemption arc, starting off as something of a bug-ridden disaster and transforming into the acclaimed multi-platform epic it is today – and to cap it all off, two of its stars have been immortalised as plastic ducks.

Johnny Silverhand and Jackie Welles have joined the Tubbz range of collectable characters, each notable for their duck-like qualities.

Team Cherry has announced a new update for Hollow Knight: Silksong, and while it’s already available for Steam users, it’s been submitted for approval on console and will be available very soon.

Primarily, the update addresses the Chinese translation issues present in the game by implementing a fan mod from Team Cart Fix. Team Cherry praises the team’s work, stating that the individuals involved “are well-versed in the (quite dense) narrative and lore of both Hollow Knight games, and understand the subtle links and connections that should be retained in the text”
