Brace Yourselves, Upcoming Pokémon TCG Set Will Introduce A Whole New Level Of Rarity

Let the scalping commence.

The Pokémon Company has revealed that it will release a special Black and White-themed TCG set to celebrate the games’ 15th anniversary. Sounds fun, right? Well, aside from all that nostalgia, the set will also introduce a new level of rarity to the card game, something we’re sure the scalpers will behave totally normally over…

The ‘Black Bolt’ and ‘White Flare’ sets will be released in Japan on 6th June, containing all 156 ‘mon from the Unova region. While everyone will undoubtedly be chasing the usual full arts and ex cards, the set introduces a new ‘BWR’ rarity — the highest rarity in the collection — featuring Reshiram, Zekrom and Victini in some sweet single-colour designs.

Hoth Take.

It’s May 4th, Star Wars Day. Or, as we refer to it at Nintendo Life Towers, Oh-god-Jim’s-going-to-bang-on-about-Star-Wars-again Day.

Heh, it’s true, I am a fiend for all things from a Galaxy Far, Far Away, and, if I’m being honest, that has sometimes meant that I’m a little more keen to see the Light Side than embrace the more realistic Darkness. But my rambling this year isn’t an ‘Attack of the Clones is Good, Actually’ hot take, my dear Younglings. Instead, I’m about to hit you with some cold, hard facts. The kind of facts that are based mostly on my own point of view, of course.

The Company That “Leaked” Switch 2 Is Being Sued By Nintendo

Genki “used Nintendo’s trademarks… in violation of Nintendo’s rights”.

Well, it turns out Nintendo itself wasn’t too thrilled at the surprise being ruined, and is taking Genki to court.

In documents spotted by Oatmeal Dome, Nintendo claims that Genki “demoed and promoted unauthorized purported mockups and renderings of the Nintendo Switch 2 and its accessories” at CES, infringing its trademarks.
