One Of 2025’s Best-Reviewed Games Has Quietly Released On Switch Today

Crawl through dungeons and learn Japanese in Shujinkou.

2025 has been an absolutely stacked year for video games — Hades II, Hollow Knight: Silksong, Clair Obscur, Donkey Kong Bananza, and Split Fiction are just a few games that have picked up over a 90 average on OpenCritic. But until Hades II arrived, there was a game that stood head and shoulders above the rest, and you might not have even heard of it.

Shujinkou launched on PC via Steam and PS5 earlier this year and the Switch version is out today (2nd October) on the eShop for £26.99 / $29.99 (or your regional equivalent). The port was actually announced about a month ago, but given the craziness of September, it completely slipped by us!

Bugs and UI issues also fixed.

Star Wars Outlaws is already one of the most-impressive ports on the Switch 2, and Massive Entertainment and Ubisoft are ensuring it maintains that title with today’s brand new update.

Switch 2 Title Update 2 generally focuses on graphical and visual stability along with a few bug and UI fixes. We won’t say no to that, especially just under a month since its release.

Random: LEGO’s New Game Boy Set Has Been Modded To Play Games After Just One Day

Designs will be shared when it’s finished.

As you’ll likely be aware, LEGO’s fancy Adult range of sets got itself a sweet 1:1 replica of Nintendo’s iconic Game Boy yesterday (look out for a gallery of this writer’s build shortly). However, not happy with the stunning attention to detail, dinky little game carts, and interchangeable screens that the vanilla Lego GB is rocking, one master builder has decided to bring hers to life.

In what’s got to be some sort of record for a mod turnaround, Australian Game Boy modder and self-taught circuit-board designer Natalie the Nerd has got her Lego handheld playing real GB games via real carts with nary a Raspberry Pi or other modern doodah in sight.

It allows players to jump into the action with multiple iconic heroes and try out this new title before its official launch. That’s not all, though, as there’s apparently been a datamine – seemingly revealing (spoiler alert) Iron Man and Phoenix will be playable characters. There also seems to be possible roster DLC planned.

Opinion: Silksong Might Just Be The Funniest Game Of The Year

Silks and giggles.

It’s very easy not to see the funny side of Hollow Knight: Silksong. Don’t worry, I’ve been there. Something about bashing your head against a boss for the 20th time takes away the giggles a little bit, and that’s okay. But you have to hear me out here: I haven’t laughed this much at a game in a very long time.

It tickles a very Looney Tunes-esque niche that I didn’t realise I still found so funny. There’s none of the surrealism of Thank Goodness You’re Here or the quips of Portal, but if you’re the kind of person who likes watching Wile E. Coyote finally catch Roadrunner only to immediately land a heavy anvil to the noggin, then Silksong has more than enough opportunities to laugh away the pain.
