‘My Nintendo’ App Icon Spotted, But Will It Come To The West?

Nintendo dropped a load of new surprises as part of its latest Direct presentation, including a brand-new mobile app called ‘Nintendo Today!‘.

In it, the app describes how to set up one of its two widgets on your phone homescreen, and it’s here that we can see something quite interesting. In the accompanying screenshots, an app icon for ‘My Nintendo’ can be seen in the bottom left corner of the screen.

Ubisoft Opens New Subsidiary Backed By Tencent For Assassin’s Creed And Other IP

“A new chapter in its history”.

Nintendo has shared all sorts of new and exciting reveals for the Switch this week, but it’s not the only company that’s been busy. Third-party developer and publisher Ubisoft has announced it will be “accelerating its transformation” with a new dedicated subsidiary for Assassin’s Creed, Far Cry, and the Tom Clancy’s Rainbow Six series, and it’s backed by Tencent.

The Chinese video game company will be investing €1.16 billion (approximately 25%) for a “minority stake in the new subsidiary” valued at around €4 billion. The focus will apparently be to build and create gaming ecosystems that are “truly evergreen and multiplatform”.

“Nintendo Switch 2 Edition Games” Are A Thing, According To Official Website

As opposed to “Switch 2 exclusive”.

Today, Nintendo introduced Virtual Game Cards, a digital game-sharing feature coming to Switches 1 and 2 that lets you move your digital purchases between your consoles and lend them to people in your family Nintendo Account group.

A note on Nintendo’s webpage detailing the upcoming feature mentions that “Nintendo Switch 2 exclusive games” can only be moved between Switch 2 systems, naturally, but it also mentions something else: “Nintendo Switch 2 Edition games”.

Absurd Arcade Basketball Game ‘Dunk Dunk’ Dribbles Onto Switch In May

Developer Badgerhammer Games and publisher Playtonic Friends have announced that Dunk Dunk, the ridiculous arcade basketball game, will dribble onto the Switch on 8th May 2025.

Featuring cameos from titles like Yooka-Laylee, Overcooked, Elsie, Demon Turf, and more, Dunk Dunk looks to be the perfect game to boot up with a few mates, a beer or two, and some tasty snacks. The premise is simple: you and up to three other players will need to compete to see who can achieve the most slam dunks in a single match.

Nintendo Has Sneakily Confirmed The Switch 2’s Mysterious ‘C’ Button

Nintendo has sneakily confirmed the mysterious new ‘C’ button for the upcoming Nintendo Switch 2.

As spotted by VGC, the new Apple and Android store listings for the Nintendo Today app contains a small image of the Switch 2. At first glance, it’s the same image we’ve been seeing everywhere since the console was revealed in January, but at a closer look, you can see that the new button Nintendo had previously blanked out is now adorned with the letter ‘C’.

Random: Someone Is Already Playing Assassin’s Creed Shadows On 3DS

“Finally, I can play the new Assassin’s Creed”.

We Nintendo fans felt a bit like that Squidward looking out the window meme when Assassin’s Creed Shadows launched on PC, Xbox and PS5 last week. Sure, a game the size of Ubisoft’s latest was never going to end up on Switch, but that doesn’t mean we have to rule out all Nintendo consoles.

Yes, the mighty 3DS has struck once again. After we saw it tackling ATLUS’ Metaphor: ReFantazio last year, we knew it would only be a matter of time before it took on another big hitter, and it’s done exactly that. We never thought we’d see an Assassin’s Creed game running on our beloved clamshell, but here we are (thanks for the heads up, GamesRadar).

Ex-Nintendo Duo Unsure Mario Kart 9 Will Be An Instant “Slam Dunk” For Switch 2

Mario Kart 8 has established itself as a “juggernaut”.

Mario Kart 9 looks set to be Nintendo’s premier launch title for the Switch 2 but will it be enough to convince millions of existing Switch owners around the world they absolutely need this new hybrid system right away? Former Nintendo employees Kit and Krysta, who now run their own YouTube channel, aren’t so sure.

In a new video titled “The problem with the new Mario game on Switch 2“, the Nintendo of America alumni discussed how this next iteration of Mario Kart could end up being a tough sell at first after the evergreen success of Mario Kart 8 Deluxe throughout the Switch generation.

Shinobi: Art Of Vengeance Is Getting A Limited Run Physical Switch Release

Pre-orders are “coming soon”.

Sega surprised fans in February with the official reveal of Shinobi: Art of Vengeance for the Switch and multiple other platforms. It’s already locked in a release date of 29th August 2025 and in an update today we’ve now got news of a physical release.

This hard copy version will be distributed by Limited Run Games. Pre-orders for this physical release are “coming soon” with a collector’s edition also confirmed. Here’s a look:
