EA has just announced that Apex Legends will be receiving a Switch 2 upgrade next month, or rather next week, as it drops on August 5th. Hooray!

Yep, as part of today’s very good/middling/awful (delete as appropriate) Partner Direct, we learned that the online squad-based shooter, which first launched all the way back in 2019 — when it singlehandedly invented pinging stuff for your mates in-game (maybe) — will hit Switch 2 next Tuesday.

Mexican indie studio Interactive Dreams has announced that its short interactive story, A Dream About Parking Lots, arrives on Nintendo Switch… today.

The game, which only takes around 30-40 minutes to complete according to the PR, sees you search for your car, whilst at the same time having a conversation with a therapist about why you have this recurring dream about parking lots.

Ys X: Proud Nordics launches for the Switch 2 in Japan today, and while there’s still no word about a local release, some new details have now emerged about this experience.

As highlighted by RPGSite, an early review from Japanese outlet Dengeki has revealed some key details about how the Switch 2 version connects with the existing Switch release. According to the source, “clear data” from your save file can be carried from Ys X: Nordics to Ys X: Proud Nordics.

Nintendo Preparing Super Mario Party Jamboree – Switch 2 Edition + Jamboree TV Update

A fix for a small glitch is on the way.

Nintendo released Super Mario Party Jamboree – Nintendo Switch 2 Edition + Jamboree TV last week, and while the launch has gone mostly to plan, there’s apparently one bug Nintendo will be addressing in a future update.

According to its customer support account on social media, the ability to upload records to the rankings is temporarily suspended. Rankings will also not be updated for the time being. This will once again be resolved in an update as soon as possible:

Japanese Variety Show Ranks Nation’s Favourite Games, Mario & Animal Crossing Miss Top Spot

A new survey conducted by Japanese variety show Ariyoshiiieeeee! – Oh yeah! Wanna play games at your place now? has revealed Japan’s favourite video games, both overall and by age rating, and while the likes of Mario, Splatoon, Pokémon, Zelda, Animal Crossing, and Dragon Quest all make frequent appearances, none of them made the top spot. Nope, Japan’s number one game — at least, according to a survey of 3,000 people conducted by the show — is none other than Minecraft. Super Mario Bros. landed at second overall, while Animal Crossing: New Horizons came in third. Everyone surveyed was asked to give their five favourite games, and then votes were tallied up to bring us the results.

Nintendo Was The Only One Making Steady Revenue On NES, Says Capcom Vet

“Profits skyrocketed with the switch from cartridges to discs”.

Former Capcom and Street Fighter II producer Yoshiki Okamoto has been sharing insights into his time working on games for the NES / Famicom over on his YouTube channel, and it gives us an interesting glimpse at game development at the time.

Translated by Automaton Media, Okamoto detailed that it was harder for third-party developers such as Capcom and retailers to actually turn a profit making and selling games for the Famicom. And, from his experience, “only Nintendo had a guaranteed profit.”

Super Mario 3D World + Bowser’s Fury Recieves Another Switch 2 Update

Mario Kart World Has Been Updated To Version 1.2.0, Here Are The Full Patch Notes

Update on Switch 2 today.

Following three updates in June, Mario Kart World‘s first (and probably last) update for July 2025 is now live.

This might just be the biggest one yet, as it includes a whole bunch of general updates as well as multiple bug fixes. One, in particular, mentions how the frequency of “lap-type courses” has been increased, and much more has also been updated.
