Coming in June.

Aksys Games is bringing Falcom’s action RPG Tokyo Xanadu eX+ to Switch in June 2024. The publisher announced this during today’s All Aksys event, which was streamed on Twitch.

Tokyo Xanadu eX+ is an enhanced version of the PS Vita RPG Tokyo Xanadu, which was released back in 2015. Random: Skipping Zelda: TOTK’s Great Sky Island Tutorial Is Possible, With The Right Glitches

Scratch that glitch.

A game as massive as The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom was always going to have a couple of bugs just waiting to be found by the glitch hunters out there. Since its launch, we have seen players discover ways of getting infinite items, fire immunity, even one-hit weapons, but none have felt quite as personal as this — skipping the game’s introductory area.

Let’s not forget, Breath of the Wild‘s Great Plateau was such a sticking point for the glitching community back in the day, with the possibility of skipping it becoming the holy grail of all discoveries. The answer is still yet to be found, so it’s natural that certain players would take to the TOTK equivalent, The Great Sky Islands, with the same level of skippable optimism.

Random: Handheld Specialist Creates Prototype ‘Switch Lite OLED’ Mod

Lookin’ sharp.

Poor Switch Lite. Although Nintendo’s smaller, budget-friendly handheld certainly has its audience, there’s no doubt in our mind that it pales in comparison to the Switch – OLED Model thanks to the latter’s far superior screen.

This could well be a thing of the past, though, as YouTuber and handheld specialist Taki Udon has created a prototype mod that replaces the standard LCD screen in the Switch Lite with an OLED screen. What’s more, Udon has stated that the mod shouldn’t cost too much to implement, with prices ranging from $25-$50 based on overall interest.

Random: Nintendo Releases The Hounds On A Pokémon Ripoff Game, But Not That One

Pokémon, snapped.

If we had to pick the gaming hot topic for January 2024, it would be ‘not-Pokémon’. Palworld seems to be the lookalike on everybody’s lips, but that doesn’t mean that it is the only game saying “Ditto” to the Pokémon formula out there. And, boy, does Nintendo know it.

Yes, as flagged by Games Radar, Nintendo of America has filed an opposition to the attempt to trademark the term ‘PokeZoo‘. This ‘new’ IP was set to be a trading card game which boasts, according to its website description, “groundbreaking mechanics that break the 4th Wall”. Mhmm.

Analysts Doubt ‘Switch 2’ Will Be Able To Top Switch’s Mighty Sales Numbers

“The share price looks overvalued”.

The much-rumoured Switch successor that Nintendo fans and investors alike are eager to see officially revealed will struggle to match the current console’s overall hardware sales, according to analysts quoted in a new Bloomberg report (thanks, GoNintendo)

Anticipation for the system has sent shares of the company to a record high in recent weeks, although industry analysts for Goldman Sachs, CLSA Securities, and Macquarie Group have suggested that Nintendo will have its work cut out to exceed the level of interest and unit sales that the current console has enjoyed since 2017. Switch has sold over 132 million units as of November 2023.
