Crash And Spyro Dev Wants To Partner With Team Xbox For A Crack At Banjo

“Banjo’s been hibernating long enough, right?”.

Having helmed well-received entries in the Spyro/Skylanders and Crash Bandicoot lines, developer Toys for Bob has form with 3D platformers featuring beloved childhood characters. Perhaps unsurprisingly, according to a new interview, the team would be interested in reviving another fan-favourite series: Rare’s Banjo-Kazooie.

Speaking with Canadian Guy Eh (thanks, Windows Central), Toys for Bob’s co-studio head Paul Yan mentioned the bear-and-bird series as one he’d like to see brought back, highlighting Team Xbox as “a great partner”.

Three Sega Genesis / Mega Drive Games Have Been Added To Switch Online’s Expansion Pack

Try them out today.

Nintendo has wrapped up this week by adding three more Sega Genesis / Mega Drive classics to the Switch Online Expansion Pack. These titles include the original Streets of Rage, Super Thunder Blade, and ESWAT: City Under Siege. You can check out the Switch Online trailer of these games above.

This follows the addition of four SNES titles being added to the base tier not long ago. Of course, to access the latest Sega additions to this library, you’ll need to have an active Switch Online + Expansion Pack membership.

Surprise! Vampire Survivors is getting a huge free update today, and it’s moving away from Konami and joining forces with Square Enix.

Announced during today’s Triple I showcase, it’s not a Final Fantasy or Kingdom Hearts DLC — both of those would be amazing, of course, but we really admire the choice that poncle settled on. The new Emerald Diorama Expansion focuses on Square most unusual series, SaGa.

Sure, Mario Kart World‘s free-roaming and knockout races are something, but do you remember back when you used to be able to squeeze two racers onto one kart? Now that was a hook.

That’s exactly what Mario Kart: Double Dash!! brought to the table in 2003, the first and last time we would see the mechanic crop up in the series. However, the classic GameCube racer was almost a lot more singular, with Nintendo considering parking the dual-driver gameplay for something more in line with what players had seen before — the horror.

Ex-PlayStation Boss Comments On Switch 2’s “Hefty” Price Hikes

“Exclusivity kind of mitigates the sticker shock”.

There has been all sorts of commentary about Nintendo’s $80 price tag on Mario Kart World and how this could potentially impact the industry and consumers going forward, and now the former PlayStation boss Shawn Layden has shared his thoughts.

Appearing on the ‘PlayerDriven’ YouTube channel and podcast recently, Layden linked Nintendo’s game price increase back to the relevance of “exclusives” and how “the only place you can play Mario” and other Nintendo IP is on a Nintendo platform. He also thinks fans often “want that content so bad” it effectively “mitigates the sticker shock”.

Zelda Wind Waker Switch 2 GameCube Release Doesn’t Rule Out HD Port

Nintendo: “All options are on the table”.

Last week, Nintendo confirmed The Legend of Zelda: The Wind Waker would be sailing onto the Switch 2 as part of the GameCube library at launch.

If you’re worried this might rule out the Wii U HD version of the game making a return one day, it seems there’s still hope. Tim Gettys of Kinda Funny Games spoke to Nintendo of America’s senior vice president of product development Nate Bihldorff and was informed “all options are on the table”.
