There’s enough for everyone, right?

It seems as though the official Japanese Nintendo eShop and online store have been struggling with high traffic numbers since the Switch 2 was fully unveiled during last week’s rather epic Direct.

As noticed over on r/NintendoSwitch, the official Japanese Nintendo website now has an apology message at the top, which has been handily translated in the comments (shoutout to Reddit user Joseki100) so we can all see what it means!

After going hands-on with the hardware, we can confirm that Switch 2 is exciting. It not only promises fresh Nintendo goodness but also to reinvigorate the OG Switch libraries many of us have been building up over the past eight years. The future is looking bright for Nintendo lifers, though a few too many unclear details and small disappointments are taking the shine off what should be a celebratory occasion.

Some of these factors are out of Nintendo’s control, to be fair. The biggest controversy revolves around the price — particularly $80 games — and the announcement that US pre-orders were being postponed has only poured petrol on the flames.

Nintendo earlier this week announced select games from the Switch generation would be getting ‘Switch 2 Edition’ releases.

A Nintendo customer service representative has reportedly shed light on the exact content included in the physical versions – claiming the Switch 2 Edition upgrade packs will be “download codes”.

Say goodbye to red spines.

We’ve had an absolute overload of information about the Switch 2 this week and somehow fans keep finding all sorts of new and exciting details.

If you haven’t already noticed, Switch 2 game cases are now slightly different (and seemingly a bit bigger). Instead of transparent plastic borders, they’re now red. Perhaps most interestingly though is how the box art wraps around the case, over the spine. In other words, you’ll no longer be looking at red spines with mostly just plain text on them.
