Feature: 27 GameCube Games We’d Love To See On Nintendo Switch 2 NSO

Born to Play… on Switch 2.

Despite somewhat meagre sales when compared to the rest of the Nintendo console line-up (Wii U notwithstanding), the GameCube is widely considered to be one of the very best in terms of its games catalogue.

Indeed, several titles from the GameCube – including Metroid Prime, Pikmin, Paper Mario: The Thousand-Year Door, Resident Evil 4, and more – have already been ported or revamped for the Nintendo Switch, all of which remain as enjoyable today as they were back in the early ‘00s.

Rumour: After Missing 13 Years, Madden May Finally Be Revealed For Nintendo This Week

Grid and bear it.

It has been a long old time since we’ve seen a Madden game on a Nintendo system (you have to go right back to the Wii U’s Madden NFL 13 to find the last one, in fact), but this week, that all could change.

As reported by VGC, the rumour mill has started a-churning about this year’s entry in the American football series, suggesting that a release date will be revealed this week. Normally, this wouldn’t interest us Nintendo fans, but let’s not forget that EA has promised the series is heading to Switch 2. Might Madden NFL 26 finally be the entry we see back on Nintendo systems?

Nintendo Switch Online + Expansion Pack Now Boasts 300 Playable Titles

Yeah, that’s a lot.

With the recent addition of the GBA title Fire Emblem: The Sacred Stones to Nintendo Switch Online + Expansion, the paid service now boasts a total of 300 playable titles in the West.

So to be clear, this count excludes SP titles, Japanese exclusives, and the upcoming line-up of GameCube titles for the Switch 2. And yes, just to address the elephant in the room, we would have already hit 300 titles if it weren’t for the removal of Super Soccer back in March.

Random: Paul Rudd “Got A Real Kick” Out Of Reuniting With Nintendo For New Commercial

“It made me nostalgic in all the right ways”.

If you haven’t seen the new Nintendo Switch 2 commercial featuring Paul Rudd, where have you been? It’s a delightful throwback to one of the Ant Man and Anchorman actor’s first ever acting roles, a SNES commercial from 1991. It’s daft, it’s silly, and we didn’t think we could love Rudd anymore.

Following the commercial’s release, IGN published an interview with the actor who talked about reuniting with Nintendo 34 years after their first partnership.

Feature: Catch-Up Crew: Pikmin – “A Moment Of Sheer Panic That I Can’t Quite Describe”

I am compelled—I must approach it.

Captain’s log, stardate 202504.21. Following our last Catch-up Crew mission to Shadow Moses Island, the crew has enjoyed extended shore leave having (re)acquainted ourselves with Metal Gear Solid.

Our new assignment takes us to the M-class world of PNF-404. However, ship instruments indicate that we haven’t left Sector 001. I’ve asked senior staff to join me in Stellar Cartography to ascertain our precise position, but in the meantime, the crew has been preparing for the away mission.

“Stay Tuned” For Next Mainline Mario, Says Nintendo’s Bowser

“We have a long, long catalogue”.

We’ll admit it, we all thought a new 3D Mario game would be the star of the show in Nintendo’s Switch 2 reveal. Donkey Kong Bananza took that spot instead, but that’s not to say that Nintendo hasn’t been cooking something up for its prized plumber. At least, that’s what Nintendo of America’s Doug Bowser seems to be teasing.

The NoA president has been in and out of interviews since the upcoming console’s announcement, and in a recent conversation with CNN, he made a passing comment about the next mainline Mario. It’s a tiny tease, we’ll admit, but it was enough to get us excited, nonetheless.
