Do Bananza And Odyssey Share The Same Pauline? Donkey Kong Dev Won’t Confirm Anything

“I’d like you to use your imagination”.

From the second Nintendo revealed Pauline was in Donkey Kong Bananza, a timeline theory began to take shape in our heads. But then we wrapped the game up, and our prequel presumptions weren’t as nailed on as we’d expected.

We still don’t have an official answer for how Bananza Pauline is related to Odyssey Pauline, and according to producer Kenta Motokura, we ain’t going to get one any time soon.

Review: JSAUX All-In-One Carry Case For Switch 2 – Rugged, Robust, And Just Really Good

All for one.

For many folks, a basic case — much like Nintendo’s own official offering — to house the Switch 2 in its handheld configuration will likely be enough for general day-to-day use. But for instances in which you might need to haul everything from the dock to the Pro Controller out and about, an ‘all-in-one’ option might be preferable.

Nintendo offers its own all-in-one case, but at £64.99 / $84.99, its price might be a little hard to stomach. JSAUX undercuts this significantly with its own variant priced at £29.99 / $37.99, and considering how much you’re saving here, it’s genuinely difficult to find much to fault.

Poll: Box Art Brawl – Duel: Yoshi Touch & Go

Look & Vote.

We’re back with another clash of the covers as we embark on this week’s Box Art Brawl!

Last time, it was the Game Boy’s Operation C (or Probotector, depending on your region) being put in the limelight, and we had a full three covers to choose between. Poll: So, Will You Be Checking Out Switch Online’s Virtual Boy Service?

Go on, tell us.

The recent Direct broadcast revealed the Virtual Boy library would be joining the Switch Online ‘Nintendo Classics’ library.

Opinion: Resident Evil Requiem Represents A Turning Point For Switch 2

No longer left behind.

Ever since the first big blowout Direct for the Switch 2 back in April, I’ve been itching to see an announcement for Resident Evil on the new console. It’s possibly my favourite series of all time, after all, so I’m eager to play the recent entries on a Nintendo console without having to connect to the bloomin’ Cloud. Heck, aren’t we all?

I’ve been banging on about it so much over online chats and meetings that I’m quite sure my colleagues were just about sick of it weeks ago. So you can imagine how much my excitement ramped up when rumours began to surface about not only existing RE Engine games making their way to Switch 2, but also the upcoming ninth mainline entry, Resident Evil Requiem.

Review: Earthion (Switch) – A New 16-Bit Shooter That’s Bold, Inventive & Hugely Enjoyable

It means the world.

While not entirely dormant for the last 30 years, Yuzo Koshiro’s Ancient Corp — responsible for Streets of Rage II, Story of Thor, and the Master System’s superb Sonic the Hedgehog — is finally back in the public eye with the release of Earthion. What’s significant for the small studio is a return to the console that cemented it in the annals of gaming history.

Those who follow Koshiro on social media will know his love for the Mega Drive and its Motorola 68000 processor, and, as such, it is with great fanfare that Earthion has arrived to reignite Sega’s 16-bit powerhouse. Sort of. Intended for a physical release in the first instance, Ancient has instead decided to lead with modern formats to ensure the manufactured cartridge (ostensibly scheduled for 2026) is the best it can possibly be. This has already resulted in improved bullet visibility based on player feedback, and other tweaks via update.
