Good news, Hero.

At the beginning of February, Square Enix announced it would be “temporarily removing” Dragon Quest XI S: Echoes of an Elusive Age – Definitive Edition from the Switch eShop to make some “minor adjustments to the store listing.

In an update on social media, the official Dragon Quest account has now confirmed the game has made its digital return on Nintendo’s hybrid platform, and it’s now available at a “permanently reduced price” of $39.99/ £34.99/ €39.99.

Super Soccer will “no longer be available”.

Following yesterday’s update about the removal of Super Formation Soccer from the Switch Online Super Famicom service in Japan, Nintendo has now confirmed the local version of the game will also “no longer be available” later this month.

The official game page for Super Soccer on the Switch Online Super Nintendo service notes how this title will be removed from this digital game library on 27th March 2025 (or 28th March, depending on your location). The title is listed as a Spike Chunsoft release.

A pirate’s life for me.

After a pretty meaty delay (happy end of the week, everyone!), we finally have an updated look at the UK physical gaming charts, and it’s a relatively quiet one for Nintendo.

A couple of new releases have squeezed their way into the top 40 this week, with Like a Dragon: Pirate Yakuza in Hawaii snatching silver and Dog Man: Mission Impawsible landing in 28th.

Try to stop it all you can, we are rapidly approaching the Minecraft Movie‘s release date on 4th April and even the new ‘Final Trailer’ hasn’t convinced us about Jack Black’s latest trip into the world of video games.

The new trailer does pack in a lot of new content, we’ll admit. There are baby pandas, talking Piglins, some pretty horrific-looking villagers, Elytra wingsuits and enough exposition that we can almost map out the entire plot of the film beat for beat.

Strong sails.

Yesterday’s Pokémon chatter meant that we had to put Famitsu‘s Japanese charts on the backburner for a minute, but fear not, here they are!

It has been a big one for Like A Dragon: Pirate Yakuza in Hawaii, with SEGA’s latest wacky RPG claiming the top two spots in its debut week as PS5 and PS4 sales (or should that be ‘sails’?) combined for a little over 105,000 units.

“A prequel to the epic saga of the Hundred Heroes”.

Eiyuden Chronicle: Hundred Heroes was one of the many RPGs to arrive on the Switch in 2024 and developer Rabbit & Bear Studios has now started its rollout of the story expansion DLC.

As previously revealed, this all kicks off with “The Chapter of Marisa” which arrives on the eShop this week. It will set you back $7.99 / £5.99 (or your regional equivalent). Of course, you’ll need the main game to access this new prequel story content.

There’ll also be Pokémon HOME restrictions.

Perhaps the biggest surprise of the latest Pokémon Presents broadcast was the reveal of the new Switch and mobile title Pokémon Champions. It follows in the footsteps of games like Pokémon Stadium, where the focus is exclusively on trainer battles.

As exciting as it is to see the return of this type of game, it seems there will be a catch – with The Pokémon Company confirming alongside this announcement that certain “limitations” will apply at the time of release. It seems there will only be “select Pokémon” available for use in Pokémon Champions, and not every single Pokémon accessible in Pokémon HOME will be usable.
