Over a week after beating Hollow Knight: Silksong, I’ve decided that we’re all focusing on the wrong things. Hornet’s fast-paced movement and range of options are breathtaking, sure, and the game can be maddening. But instead of succumbing to the difficulty discourse, instead of falling into a pit of spikes for a 13th time after a pogo-platforming section, let’s all take a deep breath and give in to the truth about Silksong.

This game is so gosh-darned cute.

From the second Nintendo revealed Pauline was in Donkey Kong Bananza, a timeline theory began to take shape in our heads. But then we wrapped the game up, and our prequel presumptions weren’t as nailed on as we’d expected.

We still don’t have an official answer for how Bananza Pauline is related to Odyssey Pauline, and according to producer Kenta Motokura, we ain’t going to get one any time soon.

Dropping two days earlier on other platforms.

Windwalk Games and Team17 have announced that the release date for their upcoming co-op roguelike, Sworn, has been shifted from 25th September, a.k.a. Hades 2 Day™, to 23rd September on PC and (other) consoles, with a Switch version due to arrive at “a later date.”

This colourful roguelike from “a team of veteran developers from Riot Games, Niantic, and Blizzard” takes inspiration from the art of the legendary Mike Mignola, has been available on PC in early access since February, where it’s gone down very well, sat as it is on a very positive rating.

Both NES and Famicom Disk System versions available.

Nintendo has added the soundtrack for Zelda II: The Adventure of Link to the Nintendo Music app.

Both the NES and Famicom Disk System versions are available to Nintendo Switch Online subscribers, with both coming in at roughly 16 minutes in length. The former, however, has one additional theme tune in the form of the three-second-long Secret Entrance, bringing its total track list to 20.

For many folks, a basic case — much like Nintendo’s own official offering — to house the Switch 2 in its handheld configuration will likely be enough for general day-to-day use. But for instances in which you might need to haul everything from the dock to the Pro Controller out and about, an ‘all-in-one’ option might be preferable.

Nintendo offers its own all-in-one case, but at £64.99 / $84.99, its price might be a little hard to stomach. JSAUX undercuts this significantly with its own variant priced at £29.99 / $37.99, and considering how much you’re saving here, it’s genuinely difficult to find much to fault.

Last time, it was the Game Boy’s Operation C (or Probotector, depending on your region) being put in the limelight, and we had a full three covers to choose between. It was the North American design that walked away with the win, however, snatching up 56% of the vote and splitting the remaining 23% and 21% between Japan and Europe, respectively.

The recent Direct broadcast revealed the Virtual Boy library would be joining the Switch Online ‘Nintendo Classics’ library.

As you’ve likely already seen, there are a few paywalls. Firstly, you’ll need to have an active Expansion Pack subscription (on top of the regular Switch Online subscription), and according to Nintendo, a paid accessory is “required”.

No longer left behind.

Ever since the first big blowout Direct for the Switch 2 back in April, I’ve been itching to see an announcement for Resident Evil on the new console. It’s possibly my favourite series of all time, after all, so I’m eager to play the recent entries on a Nintendo console without having to connect to the bloomin’ Cloud. Heck, aren’t we all?

I’ve been banging on about it so much over online chats and meetings that I’m quite sure my colleagues were just about sick of it weeks ago. So you can imagine how much my excitement ramped up when rumours began to surface about not only existing RE Engine games making their way to Switch 2, but also the upcoming ninth mainline entry, Resident Evil Requiem.
