In addition to this, NIS America has also announced the launch of a wiki – teaching players how to make their first-ever RPG game with a bunch of useful guides, tutorials and walkthroughs.

Punching onto Switch next month.
After making a surprise appearance at last month’s Partner Direct, SEGA has today unveiled a closer look at Yakuza Kiwami on Switch in a brand-new ‘Play it Together!’ trailer.
It has been almost 20 years since the first game in the series landed on PS2 (of which Kiwami is a remake), and this new trailer is all about the cross-generational appeal of walking around the streets of Kamurocho, beating up any punk that looks at you funny. We wouldn’t put any of the Like a Dragon games into the “family-friendly” category, but the trailer is a sweet watch, all the same.

If you played through Thank Goodness You’re Here earlier this year and thought, “yes, I want more of that,” then you’re in luck. Publisher Panic (alongside House House and Chromosphere) has channelled all those comedy vibes into a proof-of-concept short for an ‘Untitled Goose Programme‘ that never was, and it seriously made us chuckle.
All of the Untitled Goose Game vibes are present and correct here: a quaint English town, a meddling goose, chaos, but it’s all bent into a programme format reminiscent of old-school BBC scheduling. You’ll watch as an increasingly ridiculous episode of ‘Where is He Now?’ is derailed by the titular goose, leaving its presenter and guest groundskeeper soaked, injured and with their life’s work in tatters — not bad in four minutes, eh?

In the wake of Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Shredder’s Revenge, squat, cartoony, sprite-based scrolling beat ’em ups seem to be very fashionable. The forthcoming Toxic Crusaders is going for a similar look, Double Dragon Gaiden: Rise of the Dragons was uncharacteristically cutesy, and now The Karate Kid: Street Rumble features a cast that look like they rolled out of a Gashapon vending machine.
That said, the aesthetic effort here is quite accomplished. Set in a pastel-hued mid-’80s Reseda, California, while locations are rather plain initially, they quickly improve as things progress, with one of the best-looking arcade centre stages we’ve seen in a while. The spritework is excellent, too, with cool characters who are both well-formed and animated, and have a nice finish in terms of colour casting. The pixel art is a far cry from the cutscene art, anyway, which kind of sucks.

“Enjoy the Pokémon TCG in a more casual way”.
Following a release date announcement at the World Championships in August, The Pokémon Company has now released a gameplay video for its upcoming mobile title Pokémon Trading Card Game Pocket.
This new video takes trainers through the steps of joining in on the fun. It’s as simple as opening a booster pack and collecting the cards. You’ll also get two free booster packs per day and as part of the experience, there are new “immersive” animated cards that transport you to the world of Pokémon.

After being revealed in last month’s Indie World showcase, FuturLab and Square Enix have today announced that PowerWash Simulator‘s paid Shrek DLC will be making a mess on Switch on 10th October.
Adding to a long list of impressive PowerWash collaborations with the likes of SpongeBob, Final Fantasy and Back to the Future, the Shrek Special Pack offers up a collection of mucky locales from Far, Far Away, and it’s up to you to clean ’em.

Gotta redraw ’em all.
To celebrate the 20th anniversary of Pokémon Emerald for the GBA, 130 artists have collabrated on a project to redraw the sprites for all 386 Pokémon included in the game (thanks, gamesradar).
Not only that, but the revised sprites have been implmented into a fully playable ROM hack called Pokémon Emerald: Respirited, so you can try it out yourself and check out the new representations (we won’t provide a link to the download directly here, but locating it won’t prove particularly difficult).
