Devon Pritchard will be taking over.

Nintendo has announced that the President and Chief Operating Officer of Nintendo of America Doug Bowser will be retiring at the end of the year, on 31st December 2025.

His replacement has already been named — Devon Pritchard, who has been at NoA for 19 years and is currently the Executive Vice President of Sales, Marketing & Communications. As part of the move, Pritchard will also be joining the NoA Board of Directors and will become a Nintendo Co., Ltd Executive Officer when she takes over.

Gosh, make up your minds.

Just recently, the director of Final Fantasy VII Remake Intergrade mentioned that Game-Key Cards for Switch 2 were somewhat of a necessary evil, stating that load times from a physical cartridge are inferior to that found on an SSD.

Now, in an interview with VGC, Resident Evil Requiem director Koshi Nakanishi has seemingly contradicted this viewpoint when asked about the decision to utilise Game-Key Cards. His response was simple:

Across PS5 and Switch, the remake is the best-selling game of the week.

Famistu has published the latest weekly physical charts in Japan, and while a handful of new releases have changed things up a bit, the line-up is still largely the same.

At first glance, you’ll notice that Mario Kart World remains on top, selling a further 33,861 copies. But last week’s new release, Trails in the Sky 1st Chapter, takes both second and third place, with the PS5 version just edging out the Switch release (physically at least) by 58 copies.

Waka Waka Waka 2: Much Prettier.

I admit it. When this review came along, my gaming patience was being tested to its limit by Silksong’s brutal difficulty. So I rolled pretty enthusiastically towards an alternative I hoped would be more relaxing. (I genuinely regret the hours I spent defeating The Last Judge.)

Pac-Man World 2: Re-Pac seemed the ideal pellet-shaped breath mint to freshen things up. But while this ground-up remake will likely please fans of the 2002 original, it’s ironic that I found myself haunted by similar frustrations that I was experiencing elsewhere – including bosses that crossed the line from being challenging to becoming a bit of a chore. For newcomers more generally, you’ll have to decide whether the price point of £34.99 at launch fits your budget for what is, at its core, a six-to-seven-hour experience in a genre where there are so many other options.

Ahead of her debut on 15th October 2025, C. Viper gets the spotlight with a brand new gameplay trailer for Street Fighter 6.

Available as part of the Year 3 Ultimate / Character Pass, C. Viper (or Crimson Viper) was originally introduced to the series in the 2008 entry Street Fighter IV. She retains her signature moves such as Burning Kick, Thunder Dash, Knuckled Pursuit, and Seismic Hammer. A brand new move called Focus Force has also been introduced, allowing you to bring up a protective barrier before launching your counterattack.

Update: The Pokémon Company responds.

A recent online post from the US Department of Homeland Security has prompted calls from angry fans for The Pokémon Company to initiate legal action against the US federal department.

If you’ve somehow missed it, the post — entitled ‘Gotta Catch ‘Em All’ — contains a video mixing the Pokémon anime’s famous intro with footage of law enforcement agents handcuffing and detaining people.

Here’s a new trailer to make up for it.

We’ve got some breaking news from Level-5, with the company today confirming Professor Layton and The New World of Steam will no longer arrive on the Switch and Switch 2 this year.

This update comes alongside the latest trailer at the Tokyo Game Show. It’s now scheduled to arrive at some point in 2026. Here’s the official statement via the Layton website, which notes how the team wants to deliver the title in the “best possible form”:

Following a box art leak last week.

Physical copies of Sonic Racing: CrossWorlds (which aren’t meant to be available to the public until 25th September 2025) have reportedly “leaked” upcoming Season Pass and DLC collaborations.

If you don’t want any spoilers, you might want to navigate away from this page now. Right, with this out of the way, according to fan site The Sonic Stadium, Capcom’s Mega Man series will be featured in the Season Pass, filling the “last paid DLC” collab slot.
