At the time of writing, the Switch has the highest number of software sales of any Nintendo console, ever, with over one billion games sold on the platform since March 2017. What’s more, its lead is so commanding that it will likely hold this pole position for a good few years to come (unless there is a sudden surge in sales for DS games around the corner that nobody saw coming).

Zon-ai can’t believe it.

Nintendo has released its financial results for the first quarter of FY24, providing an updated view of sales figures for its key titles and hardware as of June 30th, 2023.

Something which should really come as no surprise, but is still somehow pretty astonishing, is that The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom is well and truly selling like hotcakes. In less than two months, the game has sold a total of 18.51 million units. Of course, now that we’re in August, that figure is undoubtedly even higher at this point.

Get ’em while they’re hot.

The Pokémon Company has today opened pre-orders for the latest two additions to the Squishmallows range: Piplup and Winking Pikachu. You can place an order for either ‘mon right now from the official Pokémon Center site in both Europe and North America.

These two new plushies were revealed back in May following the immensely popular release of the Snorlax and Togepi Squishmallows earlier this year. As expected, both of the new additions are listed for £25.99 / $29.99, and are expected to ship by early September.

Square Enix revealed the first of two unannounced DLC song packs coming to Theatrhythm Final Bar Line today via the official Final Fantasy series Twitter.

The Bravely Default Series Pack launches on 11th October and will include six songs from Bravely Default and Bravely Default II. The DLC will be available to those who have purchased the Premium Digital Deluxe Edition or have downloaded Season Pass 3. You’ll also be able to buy the pack separately from the Nintendo Switch eShop.

To redeem your random title words, you will need to head to the SplatNet 3 section of the Nintendo Switch Online app and select QR Code Reader. Then, it is simply a case of scanning the code from the following tweet and voila, your random title will be sent to the Lobby Terminal in Splatoon 3.

Gotta build fast.

It’s the beginning of August and that means Sonic the Hedgehog LEGO is now officially available in stores and online. Yes, if you missed out on that premium set a while ago, there’s now a whole line of more affordable sets to select from.

In total, this series is launching with five sets and includes Sonic characters like Amy, Tails and Dr. Eggman. Various animals and Badniks are also featured.

World Brothers 2 officially announced.

The Switch has already played host to a number of Earth Defense Force games, and apparently, it will be getting another one in the future.

As revealed by Weekly Famitsu, a new spin-off titled Earth Defense Force: World Brothers 2 is on its way to the Switch and multiple other platforms in Japan. This is a follow up to the 2020/21 voxel graphics release and is apparently set in a parallel world where Earth is made up of digital blocks, with the enemy threat emerging from within the planet.
