Could an announcement be on the way?

Following the release of Gothic Classic and Gothic II Classic on the Nintendo Switch, it looks like the third entry in the fantasy-themed open-world RPG series is also coming to the Nintendo Switch in the future.

A new (and now removed) rating for Gothic 3 Classic has been spotted on the ESRB. Below is a look, courtesy of Gematsu. It will be rated ‘T’ for teen and contains “blood and gore, language, mild suggestive themes, use of drugs and violence”.

She also played Chun-Li and Major from Ghost in the Shell.

There’s some incredibly sad news coming out of Japan today about the passing of Atsuko Tanaka – the voice actor behind many major video game and anime roles. This was revealed by her son Hikaru Tanaka on social media – with Oricon News noting how she was 61 years of age.

Some of her most notable roles included the voice of Bayonetta in the Japanese version of the game, Chun-Li from the Street Fighter series, Lara Croft, and the protagonist of the famous anime series Ghost in the Shell, Motoko “The Major” Kusanagi. In addition to this, she played characters from games and anime like NieR Replicant (Kaine), Devil May Cry (Trish) and JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure (Lisa Lisa).

Following last month’s reveal of new Splatoon 3 amiibo, Nintendo has now released two new trailers in Japan, giving fans a sneak peek of these figures in-game. You can take a look in the trailers below. Once again, they’ll be launching locally next month on 5th September 2024.

Here’s the first gameplay trailer.

We were more than a bit surprised when Sid Meier’s Civilization VII was confirmed to be coming to Switch at Summer Game Fest 2024. And at Gamescom, we found out when we can expect to play the game on all consoles — 11th February 2025.

Debuting alongside the release date was the first-look at the gameplay, nd it looks absolutely stunning. Of course, we don’t have Switch footage yet — and we’re sort of staggered that they’ll be able to squeeze the game onto the console — but hopefully it’ll look nice on the hybrid console. Well, we’ll find out early next year.

Book publisher Lost in Cult has announced it will be launching a comprehensive book celebrating Japanese studio Grasshopper Manufacture.

Written by Blake Hester and clocking in at over 400 pages, Kill the Past: 25 Years of Grasshopper Manufacture will launch in Q2/Q3 2025 with pre-orders available now until 18th October 2024.

Capcom’s seven-game collection launches in 2024.

Capcom is beginning to ramp up promotions for the Marvel vs. Capcom: Fighting Collection – Arcade Classics. As part of this, it’s now released a trailer for Clash of Super Heroes.

In the words of Capcom, this is Marvel and Capcom’s “third game effort” – featuring characters like Mega Man, Spider-Man, Venom, and various other all-star heroes and characters. Battles are described as being more intense than ever before in this epic clash. You’ll also be able to hone your skills in the training mode, and view & listen to materials in the museum.

Everything on show during Nintendo’s ‘Museum Direct’.

The Nintendo Museum is finally opening this year and now that Nintendo has given us a preview in the latest Direct broadcast, we’ve put together this gallery capturing its retro history.

As previously revealed, the museum is built on the site of Nintendo’s original factory (the Nintendo Uji Ogura Plant) where it made Hanfuda and playing cards. Quality checks also happened at this location during the Famicom era.

Well, we’ve just had our first proper look at the Nintendo Museum, courtesy of Nintendo’s Shigeru Miyamoto and at the very end of the broadcast, an opening date was confirmed.

The official date is now confirmed as 2nd October 2024, following previous statements from Nintendo mentioning how it would be opening its doors in Fall 2024.
