The Paramount series will include a bunch of special features.

The Sonic the Hedgehog series ‘Knuckles‘ made its debut on Paramount earlier this year and it was generally well-received. If you haven’t already watched it or would just like a hard copy, you’re in luck. As previously confirmed a Blu-ray and DVD is on the way and we’ve now got a bit more information about it.

It will apparently be arriving later this year in September according to some updated online listings. Along with all six episodes, we now also know it will come packed with a bunch of special features including: “gag reel, cast featurette, working with Knuckles, this or that? and Knuckles impressions”.

“Take a look”.

Mario & Luigi: Brothership kicked off the latest Direct broadcast and although we’ve already seen a fair bit of footage of the game, one thing Nintendo hasn’t properly shown off just yet is the game’s box art. Yes, it’s been featured in listings here and there, but now in the latest update it’s been given an official reveal via social media.

As you see it shows the famous duo, a new character called Snoutlet and a little bit of the world Mario and Luigi are about to explore, known as Concordia. An empty background similar to Bowser’s Inside Story + Bowser Jr.’s Journey also returns. As noted by Nintendo, pre-orders for this game have also gone live.

Turning a new Pey’j.

Considering the lengthy ongoing development of Beyond Good & Evil 2 and the subsequent grilling from eager fans that Ubisoft has brought upon itself over the years, it’s easy to forget just how darn good the original game is. First released on PS2, Xbox, and GameCube at the end of 2003, Beyond Good & Evil was one of the most unique adventure games of its day, showcasing a world that Nintendo itself would have been proud to call its own.

This 20th Anniversary Edition remaster updates the experience with revamped visuals, improved performance (sort of), quality-of-life upgrades, and more. But is it still as enjoyable now as it was two decades ago? Well, the answer is thankfully a resounding “yes”: Ubisoft’s re-release is easily the best way to experience Jade and Pey’j’s epic journey on Nintendo hardware, but it’s also not without a few niggling issues.

Coming to Switch in August.

Publisher and developer Chibig has announced a release date for its adorable delivery sim, Mika and the Witch’s Mountain, via IGN. The game will be launching on Switch (and Steam) on 21st August 2024, with other consoles to follow at a later date.

In the game, you play as Mika, a budding young witch who delivers packages to the townsfolk on a small island. Mika will grow as a witch and a person, eventually climbing the top of a huge mountain.

Don’t lose your head.

Aspyr has today announced that 2002’s Star Wars: Bounty Hunter will be blasting onto Switch on 1st August in an all-new package.

You might remember this third-person action-adventure from back in the GameCube days. In it, you play as Jango Fett (before his little run-in with Mace Windu, obviously) on a mission to capture a mysterious Dark Jedi. Expect all the trappings of classic Mandalorian combat as you blast, scorch and fly your way through the campaign.

Legendary creator turns 72 this year.

Nintendo recently held its latest Annual General Meeting of Shareholders, during which questions were raised about the company, its practices, and of course, future hardware.

Rather unexpectedly, however, one question raised concerns regarding Shigeru Miyamoto’s age and role at Nintendo, with the attendee noting their wish that creators “take care of their bodies”.

It will focus on three select games.

In some industry-related news, Capcom has today announced it will be hosting a ‘Capcom Next – Summer 2024’ showcase on 1st July 2024.

This broadcast will run for 25 minutes and will focus on three titles – the newly announced Dead Rising Deluxe Remaster, Kunitsu Gami: Path of Goddess and Resident Evil 7 for Apple platforms. Capcom has also clarified there won’t be any updates on Monster Hunter Wilds or coverage of “other titles”.

The price has some fans confused.

Last year, when Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom was released, there were concerns raised about the game’s $70 USD price tag. It followed with Nintendo mentioning how pricing of its new releases would be based on a “case-by-case basis”. Now, the latest game that seems to be generating some discussion about its pricing is Donkey Kong Country Returns HD.

The price of this upcoming Switch release has been revealed on Nintendo’s official game page, and it’s been confirmed it will cost $60 (or the regional equivalent). It’s led to some fans questioning Nintendo’s pricing model after last year’s release Metroid Prime Remastered only cost $40. This news also follows the arrival of Luigi’s Mansion 2 HD, which is priced at $60.

Winning Formula?

Announced as part of the Frontier Unlocked livestream, F1 Manager 2024 will launch on Switch on 23rd July, marking the first time the motorsport management sim series has made the starting grid on Nintendo’s system.

Rather than driving the cars, the F1 Manager series puts you in the shoes of a team manager responsible for every other aspect of the race outside the actual piloting. You can choose from one of the 10 real-life teams or, alternatively, create your own constructor in a new feature for the 2024 edition which lets you craft all sorts of details, including (most importantly) the colours of the cars. Stripes make it go faster, you know.
