Random: Artist’s Pokémon-Meets-Paper Mario Mash-Up Is Seriously Awesome

We have mused on the idea of a ‘Paper Zelda’ game before, but ‘Paper Pokémon’? That’s not something we ever thought we needed. Until today, that is.

Animator and artist Spyrook has created a Pokémon-meets-Paper Mario: The Thousand-Year Door mash-up and it looks incredible. In the above video, you can witness a duo battle between Riolu / Ralts and Mawile / “Eevee” (though there’s something shifty going on with the latter), lovingly recreated in Paper Mario’s theatre setting.

Capcom Says There Might Be An Opportunity For A New MvC Game

Capcom’s dev team has big dreams, but fans will need to show their support.

The fighting game community got a huge surprise recently with Capcom’s announcement of the Marvel vs. Capcom Fighting Collection: Arcade Classics. It’s raised the question if fans might see some new entries in the future, and it seems there’s now a real possibility.

Speaking in an “exclusive” with Dexerto, the collection’s producer Shuhei Matsumoto said that “maybe there is an opportunity for a new Marvel vs Capcom game”. He feels the same way about “a new Capcom-based SNK game” if fans are willing to show their support.

Feature: Super Rare Games Talks Digital Publishing, “Shorts” Criticism, And Anticipating The Switch Successor

It’s been over four years since this writer last spoke to George Perkins of Super Rare Games, the boutique publisher of limited-run physical Switch releases which set up shop back in 2018.

Since then the firm has branched out into both physical PS5 releases and digital publishing, and with its catalogue of physical Switch games now standing at a whopping 115, it seems that despite the tumultuous state of the gaming industry right now and the long-heralded decline of physical media, there’s more than enough interest to keep a company like Super Rare in rude health.
