The legendary zombie hunter Juliet returns.

We first heard Lollipop Chainsaw would be getting a remake back in 2022, and now the first official trailer for Lollipop Chainsaw RePOP has dropped, confirming it will arrive for Switch and multiple other platforms on 25th September 2024.

This updated version of the Grasshopper Manufacture title, by developer Dragami Games, is described as the definitive version of the game, leaving the story unchanged and instead focusing on quality-of-life improvements and additional gameplay content. The scene is set in the first trailer above which features the legendary zombie hunter Juliet.

Summer Game Fest is over for another year, and it was a pretty jam-packed event. There are still plenty of stuff to come out of the show over the coming weeks, but what did we get up to while we were in Downtown Los Angeles for a week?

The latest Japanese charts are in, courtesy of Famitsu, and while it’s certainly a pretty quiet week for video games, it’s nevertheless yet another win for the Nintendo Switch.

After playing host to the PS5’s Stellar Blade in recent weeks, the top ten once again belongs solely to the Switch, with Paper Mario: The Thousand-Year Door at the top. Following this are the usual suspects, including Animal Crossing: New Horizons, Minecraft, and (shock!) Mario Kart 8 Deluxe.

Though we doubt The Big N will be happy.

An unofficial reproduction of the NES Nintendo World Championships cartridge has been successfully backed via Kickstarter, raising a total of £16,593 at the time of writing with an initial goal of £8,452.

Labelled as a new ‘pro’ version to celebrate the upcoming 35th anniversary of the 1990 World Championships event, it will contain the original version of the cartridge alongside the new pro version. What’s the difference, you might ask? Well, the pro version is more difficult, to put it bluntly.

Capcom’s 3DS title returns this week.

Capcom’s 3DS title Monster Hunter Stories returns this week as a new remastered release for the Nintendo Switch.

It’s now fully voiced and comes with a Museum mode, allowing players to view over 200 pieces of concept art and listen to additional BGM. The game’s existing updates are also included, making this a slightly more complete version than the original release. Although it’s worth noting the Zelda DLC isn’t included in this new package.

Summer Game Fest had all sorts of surprises this year and if you’re wondering about the future of this event, Geoff Keighley has already confirmed it will return to Los Angeles in June 2025.

In a brief post on social media, he mentions the event will continue to “build what’s next” alongside the industry.

Publisher Devolver Digital and developer Deadnight Games have revealed Tenjustu, a stylish roguelike beat ’em up from Dead Cells designer Sébastien Benard.

We don’t have a release date for this one just yet and it hasn’t even been confirmed for the Switch at the time of writing, but good lord, it looks so good that we simply have to highlight it. The trailer showcases some lovely anime cutscenes followed by blistering beat ’em up gameplay bolstered by gorgeous pixel art visuals.

“I’m really looking forward to seeing what Nintendo does with it”.

Rumblings of the Switch successor reached fever pitch last month when Nintendo president Shuntaro Furukawa took to Twitter to reveal that a console announcement is coming “this fiscal year”. We are still in the dark about what games will be coming to said console (though we have our theories) but thanks to a new interview with VGC, we do know that No More Heroes studio Grasshopper Manufacture is “definitely gonna cook for it”.

That’s according to the studio’s founder and CEO Goichi “Suda51” Suda who, while at this year’s MomoCon in Atlanta, Georgia, was asked about his hopes for Nintendo’s next console and whether he’s currently working on anything for it.

Another HEE-HOme Run.

It’s been nearly three years now since the launch of the original Shin Megami Tensei V and as is tradition at Atlus, the obligatory enhanced re-release (complete with a new storyline centered around a new girl) has now come to all modern platforms in the form of Shin Megami Tensei V: Vengeance. Boasting a full-length, alternate storyline and a host of gameplay and balance adjustments, SMTV: V is easily the definitive version of an already excellent entry in the long-running series. If you’re at all a fan of SMT, Persona, or JRPGs in general, you owe it to yourself to pick this up at the earliest opportunity.

For this review, we’ll be focusing more on the additions and adjustments being made to the core SMT V experience with this release—if you’d like to get a more detailed evaluation of the underlying gameplay mechanics and such, we’d encourage you to read through our review of the 2021 version, which still largely applies here, as well.
