Just in time for the first anniversary.

To celebrate the first year anniversary of The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom, Nintendo’s Switch Online service has re-released various themed icons.

If you missed this run the first time around, you now have from 20th May 2024 until 27th May 2024 to grab the first wave featuring plenty of familiar faces. The icons as usual are priced at 10 Platinum Points and the borders and backgrounds will set you back 5 Platinum Points.

“It gets me very excited”.

In case you somehow missed it, a second Super Mario Bros. Movie is coming to cinemas in April 2026 and it likely won’t be the only big screen outing to follow the original film’s release.

Speaking to GamesRadar+, the movie voice of Mario Chris Pratt mentioned how he could see Nintendo and its partners releasing “lots” of films based on the company’s IP over the next decade:

Dear Villagers has announced that the cosy, accessible city builder Fabledom — which launched on Steam today — is also coming to Nintendo Switch later this year. Grenaa Games’ debut title will also be getting a physical version alongside the eShop release.

Taking the popular city builder genre and giving it a fairy tale twist, Fabledom sees you creating the perfect kingdom for you and your subjects. Inspired by The Settlers, Foundation, and Kingdoms and Castles, Fabledom aims to deliver a laid-back take on managing, building, and expanding your town.

Biomutant X.

It’s been a long road for Biomutant‘s Switch release. The action RPG originally came out almost three years ago, back in May 2021, with the Switch version slowly getting pushed back time and time again. However, Experiment 101’s debut title is finally here, but it maybe should have been held back for the Switch’s successor.

Biomutant takes place in a post-apocalyptic open world, where the Tree-of-Life, a gigantic natural wonder that brings life to the whole world, is slowly being destroyed by five creatures gnawing away at its roots. You begin the game by creating your mutant character who, during the adventure, can choose to save the Tree-of-Life from these creatures and let the tree heal or let the world fall to ruin. After the intro tutorial, you can visit a variety of tribes scattered throughout the corners of the world, side with them, and complete quests that meet their wishes for the world. Some want it to fall to the plague and others are united in trying to save the Tree-of-Life.

You won’t need much space for this one.

Following a classification, the Switch game Nintendo World Championships: NES Edition was officially announced this week.

If you’re planning to download the title or are just curious to know how big the file size of this classic speed run compilation is, read on. According to Nintendo’s official listings, the estimated eShop file size is 313 MB. In comparison, NES Remix for Wii U (according to an official listing) was around 400 MB.

Switch successor release, then?

Hades II marks a first for Supergiant Games. This is the first time the studio has revisited a world, its characters, and their stories, and as a result, is its very first direct sequel. In a way, that might seem disappointing, but this is Supergiant Games we’re talking about. Hades is a masterclass in narrative design, addictive gameplay, rewarding progression, beautiful art, etc. It’s excellent across the board. However — this will shock you — Hades II also happens to be brilliant, and it’s not even finished yet!

After 20 hours of playing through the Early Access version, available via Steam and the Epic Games Store, we can tell Supergiant already has another hit on its hands. The studio can’t currently reveal what consoles it will be released on just yet — Switch Successor, maybe? We sure as hell hope so — but we couldn’t wait that long. So we loaded up our Steam Deck to check out this God-like, rogue-like sequel.
