Dragonite joins the gang.

American retailer Walmart has accidentally revealed the next Pokémon Squishmallow.

Spotted by u/Britzaaaa on the Squishmallow subreddit (via Siliconera), Dragonite will be one of the next Pokémon to feature in the collection. The listing has since been removed by Walmart, but it seems likely that we’ll be getting this one soon. And my goodness, it looks so adorable and so silly.

Review: Splatoon 3: Side Order – An Addictive Roguelite Just Shy Of Excellence

Starter for Eight.

Splatoon 3’s Side Order has been dangling just out of reach since it was revealed in 2023, but Wave 2 of the DLC has finally landed for Splatoon 3 Expansion Pass owners. Nearly five years after the release of Splatoon 2’s Octo Expansion, Agent Eight’s story continues in the drab and colourless world of the Memverse, but is it worth the train fare to reach this particular station?

Let’s be blunt, Side Order is a roguelite, meaning there’s a series of semi-random levels you must beat sequentially in order to triumph. The catch? If you run out of lives, you’re sent right back to the start. Note the ‘t’ in the genre name, though, as unlike a roguelike, you can unlock bonuses and boons to make each subsequent run up the tower that little bit easier.

‘Runner2’ Leaps To Switch Next Week, Complete With Charles Martinet

He did a Runner.

Charles Martinet may have hung up his cap as the voice of Mario, but next week you’ll get to hear his dulcet tones in a new Switch release. On 29th February, the snappily named BIT.TRIP Presents: Runner2: Future Legend of Rhythm Alien is making the leap from Wii U to Switch (see what we did there?) with Martinet’s narration present and correct.

The acclaimed rhythm-based runner from Bit.Trip series originators Gaijin Games — now Choice Provisions — launched on Wii U and other platforms back in 2013, with the sequel Runner3 arriving on Switch in 2018.

Random: Donkey Kong: Tropical Freeze Could Have Been About Alien Invaders

Donkey Kong Country: Independence Day?

Donkey Kong Country: Tropical Freeze is all about snow; that much should be obvious from the game’s title, even for those who have yet to play Retro Studios’ excellent platformer.

According to a recent interview from KiwiTalkz in which he chats with former Retro artists Eric Kozlowsky and Ted Anderson, however, early development included a potential martian theme for the game. This was only briefly considered, as the studio was pretty set on the Snowmad enemies at the time, but the gist would be that aliens living on the moon would invade Donkey Kong Island after DK punched it at the end of Returns.
