Game celebrates 30th anniversary this year.

The cult hit EarthBound (Mother 2) is celebrating its 30th anniversary this year, so naturally, that means that Japan is getting another collaboration between Mother and watch manufacturer Casio.

Due for launch on 14 March, 2024 via a lottery purchase system, the ‘Mother Red’s GW-6900‘ follows a previous collaboration back in 2021. This time, however, the watch is red… Like, really red. You’ve got the Mother logo at the top of the display, while the word ‘Potential’ is nestled in at the bottom.

Following its launch late last year, the first-person shooter Turok 3: Shadow of Oblivion Remastered has received a new update.

If you haven’t already played the remaster, it’s certainly worth a look if you played the original game, just don’t expect multiplayer mode. Overall though, it’s fast and violent with an excellent blend of stage design and satisfying combat. You can learn more in our review:

“Explore a vast Yōkai world with friends”.

If you’re looking for another fantasy farming adventure with RPG elements, the Kickstarter project Tales of Seikyu (not to be confused with Bandai Namco’s Tales Of series) is one to watch. At the end of last month, this new game reached its $200K stretch goal – locking in a release on all systems including “Switch platforms”.

While the game is currently coinfirmed for the Switch, developer ACE Entertainment is also open to a release on Nintendo’s rumoured follow up system.

Some people might understandably associate the Tomb Raider series, like WipeOut and Crash Bandicoot, with PlayStation. Lara Croft shot to prominence as the poster girl of gaming in the lad-mag era of the late-’90s and feels forever tied to the cultural gaming cornerstone that is Sony’s debut console.

However, Core Design’s original game launched for Sega Saturn and PC, too, and while Sony negotiated console exclusivity for the sequel, the series has appeared on practically every game platform made since the turn of the millennium, including Nintendo platforms. And with the release of Tomb Raider I-III Remastered on Switch, we’re finally able to enjoy Lara’s original adventures in their original form (almost).
