“Give it up for day 15!”.

Owner of the Krusty Krab in Bikini Bottom, Eugene Harold Krabs — better known as Mr. Krabs — is the first DLC character joining the Nickelodeon All-Star Brawl 2 roster next week, on 15th February. That’s a pretty apt day (if you know, you know).

The SpongeBob SquarePants favourite is part of the game’s first season pass, which will also be adding Rocksteady (from Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles), and Zuko and Iroh (from Avatar: The Last Airbender). However, you’ll also be able to pick up each character individually.

Dead Cells is… dead?

After five years of post-launch support, Motion Twin and Evil Empire have today announced that there will be no new Dead Cells content added to the game after the release of Update 35.

The announcement was made via a post on the game’s Steam page and on the Evil Empire Twitter account, with both teams thanking players for their support and promising that there are exciting things on the way in the future.

Harder, better, faster, stronger.

When it comes to remaking and re-releasing a game, it’s easy to assume every publisher out there is plundering its back catalogue to refurbish and resell treasured games to a nostalgia-laced audience happy to pay for the comfort of childhood classics brought up to date on their current consoles.

However, looking back at Nintendo’s library of remade games, there aren’t quite as many as you might assume considering the candidates the Kyoto firm could revive if it so chose. That’s not to say there haven’t been a good handful — 30 in the ranked list below, including only games released in the West — but there are dozens of games that remain untouched that we’d personally love to see come back.

This broadcast follows the cancellation of Nintendo Live 2024, with both The Legend of Zelda and Splatoon concerts being rescheduled for today and tomorrow respectively.

Here’s what’s included.

Prince of Persia: The Lost Crown has been out for almost a month now and Ubisoft is in the process of rolling out a new update for the game across all platforms.

On the Switch, this should bump the game up to Version 1.0.5 and it will require around 397MB download. Included are quest fixes, gameplay adjustments, and some user interface and map improvements. Ubisoft has also shared a list of known issues, including some Switch-specific ones.

First 4 Figures has got off to a busy start this year with a bunch of new statues, and the next one getting a release is based on a well-known item from The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild.

It’s a life-size Sheikah Slate. You can see the statue’s silhouette in the teaser, and it’s apparently arriving “really soon”. Pre-orders will open later this month on 20th February 2024 and if you get in early and sign up for the newsletter, you’ll get $10 off.

The Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles have returned in a new Fortnite crossover event. Alongside this, Epic Games has released a slick new cinematic trailer titled “Turtles Kick Baddie Butt”.

Not at all afraid to be killed in nasty ways.

Yaza Games’ Medieval scribe-inspired turn-based battler, Inkulinati, is coming to Switch on 22nd February. It’s picked up several awards since its Early Access release on Steam, including Gamescom 2022’s Best Indie Game and Most Original Game, so it’s great to see the full version finally penned in on Switch (and other consoles).

We have known about the Idris Elba-led Knuckles TV series for a while now, but today we have got our first real look at what’s in store thanks to a new trailer from Paramount.

The “six-episode streaming event” — whatever happened to ‘series’? — will air on Paramount+ on 26th April and is set to serve as a spin-off to the two (soon to be three) live-action Sonic movies.

“I just want some answers at this point”.

With rumours of a potential Switch successor landing in 2024, there’s much talk on exactly what the system will entail and whether it will retain the overall concept of Nintendo’s hybrid console.

One of the most recent rumours doing the rounds is regarding the console’s screen size, with one analyst noting that it will likely come packing an 8-inch LCD screen. This is a full inch larger than the current Switch – OLED Model, and Digital Foundry has discussed the potential implications this might have on the successor’s form factor and Joy-Con compatibility.
