‘Shadow Labyrinth’ Injects Some Pac-Man Nostalgia Into Its Latest Trailer

Waka-waka, eh ehhh.

Bandai Namco has released a new trailer for its upcoming Pac-Man re-imagining Shadow Labyrinth, and if previous glimpses of the game perhaps didn’t convince you, then this latest effort may just bring you on board with its nostalgic elements.

The new trailer showcases a series of mazes that look a lot more like the traditional Pac-Man experience you’re perhaps more used to. There are a few interesting elements, mind you, including boost pads that speed Pac-Man (or “Puck”, as it’s known here) along a straight line, along with the ability to jump and bash into platforms, thus causing them to move or fall down.

Feature: “Game-Key Cards Don’t Sit Right With Us” – Lost In Cult Dives Into Its New Physical Games Line

“I’m an absolutist when it comes to preservation”.

As far as the ‘Average Joe’ on the high street is concerned, the physical games market is practically dead and buried right now. Store shelves are emptier than ever, the usually reliable supermarket chains often no longer stock them, and we’re rapidly heading into a future in which the majority of Switch 2 carts won’t have any significant data on them.

Yet for the hardcore crowd — those whose passion for the physical article has yet to waver — there are thankfully still a few avenues to investigate. Limited Run Games, Super Rare Games, iam8bit… All of them have stumbled at some time or another, yet they remain some of the last bastions of physical games media.

“It’s getting gnarly out there, you guys”.

Gearbox Software’s Randy Pitchford found himself in hot water recently after making a fairly tone deaf comment regarding the potential price of Borderlands 4.

In response to concerns that the game may well be priced at $80, Pitchford simply stated that “if you’re a real fan, you’ll find a way”. It’s not a totally egregious comment in some respects, but the insinuation that those who perhaps can’t afford the game aren’t so-called “real fans” definitely rubbed folks the wrong way.
