Not a huge calamity.

The latest UK Charts are in, and for some reason, we feel compelled to highlight that Bluey: The Videogame has reentered the charts at number 38 – congrats to all who celebrate.

Otherwise, yes, Hyrule Warriors: Age of Imprisonment has made its debut at number 5, coming in behind EA SPORTS FC 26, Football Manager 26, Mario Kart World, and Pokémon Legends: Z-A. It’s a decent start, but it’s clear this particular spin-off doesn’t command the same popularity as the mainline Zelda series. It’s also important to consider that there still aren’t that many Switch 2 consoles out in the wild in the UK.

Cyberpunk 2077 has had a remarkable redemption arc, starting off as something of a bug-ridden disaster and transforming into the acclaimed multi-platform epic it is today – and to cap it all off, two of its stars have been immortalised as plastic ducks.

Johnny Silverhand and Jackie Welles have joined the Tubbz range of collectable characters, each notable for their duck-like qualities.

Including the implementation of a fan mod.

Team Cherry has announced a new update for Hollow Knight: Silksong, and while it’s already available for Steam users, it’s been submitted for approval on console and will be available very soon.

Primarily, the update addresses the Chinese translation issues present in the game by implementing a fan mod from Team Cart Fix. Team Cherry praises the team’s work, stating that the individuals involved “are well-versed in the (quite dense) narrative and lore of both Hollow Knight games, and understand the subtle links and connections that should be retained in the text”

Metroid shred.

The cultural consciousness loves the ‘Akira Slide’; a single moment in the 1988 anime movie Akira where Shōtarō Kaneda, following a bike race, skids across the tarmac to slow himself down, facing the screen, his bike side-on, trails of smoke billowing up from the road. Of course, he could use his brakes, but it wouldn’t be as flashy now, would it? Distributors Toho knew what they were doing when they slapped Kaneda and the bike on the movie poster.

Even if you’ve never seen the movie, you’ve almost definitely seen the physics-defying Akira Slide. 37 years later, TV showrunners, animators, and directors can’t get enough of that effortless skid. It’s featured in everything from Batman: The Animated Series to Adventure Time to Jordan Peele’s 2022 sci-fi horror Nope to even adorable shows like Doraemon and the Pokémon anime.

Give Chun-Li and Ken a new look.

Following the arrival of Chun-Li in the SNK title Fatal Fury: City of the Wolves earlier this week, Capcom has released some free “special EX” colours for the same character (and the previous CotW DLC character, Ken) in Street Fighter 6.

This will change the colours of Outfit 1 on both characters. You can redeem these colours from the game’s ‘News’ section in the ‘Notices’ menu and no code input is required. Here’s a look:
