Guide: Best Yoshi Games Of All Time

From the un-egg-ceptable to the egg-ceptional, as ranked by you.

To celebrate the 10th anniversary of the European release of Yoshi’s Woolly World on Wii U, we’ve given this list a big ol’ make-over. Hopefully we’ll see more of the green dinosaur on Switch 2!

Yoshi! The little green dinosaur has been on our screens for a long time now, and while many first got to know him as an expendable resource in Super Mario World that helps Mario get extra height on his jump, he’s much more than that.

Parkour and open worlds to the rescue.

Level-5 has certainly been riding quite the high of late with the release of its very well-received Fantasy Life i: The Girl Who Steals Time. We gave the game a 9/10 in both its Switch and Switch 2 forms, so we can confirm it’s a bit of a banger.

Techland Skips Dying Light ‘Retouched’ Upgrade For Switch, Says There Are No Plans For A Switch 2 Version

Dead drop.

Dying Light is one of those absolutely huge games that just shouldn’t really work on a Switch. It’s way too big, it’s way too pretty, and it’s way too action-packed. Or at least that’s what we thought, until Techland served us up a solid port of its excellent zombie survival epic that ran just fine on Nintendo’s dinky little machine. The wizards!

Now, however, it seems as though we may not be getting treated to any more magic, for the time-being at least, from this particular Polish dev. Yes, as detailed on Techland’s official blog (thank you, Eurogamer), the Switch version of Dying Light will be skipping the brand new ‘Retouched’ update that’s bringing a bunch of audio and visual slickness to versions on other, more powerful hardware.

Review: Tron: Catalyst (Switch) – A Repetitive & Forgettable Time On The Grid

Needs more time to compile.

No matter how much I learn about the workings of computers, it will always be Tron in there. Little programs, running around on the Grid, trying to keep the whole system from falling apart. So, Tron: Catalyst felt right up my street. It does a great job of visually replicating that digital world and there is a great idea at its core. Unfortunately, the gameplay didn’t quite live up to the premise. By the end, I was left feeling like the program needed more time to compile.

Tron: Catalyst starts strong – we are introduced to a courier program named Exo who, due to a package exploding in her hands, begins glitching. Her glitches cause her to relive loops of time over and over, a power she uses to escape from prison and uncover a conspiracy surrounding the approaching reset of the Grid. There are competing factions trying to preserve or destroy the Grid; Core seeks to control the Grid with brute force while Automata seek to impart free will to all programs.

A Nintendo Subsidiary Helped Out On The Development Of Death Stranding 2

Just like the first game.

Nintendo Pictures, a Nintendo-owned subsidiary specialising in the production of “visual content”, has been revealed to have worked on the new PS5 title Death Stranding 2: On The Beach.

As covered by VGC, the company can be spotted in the credits for the game and specifically helped out on motion capture. While this might come as a bit of a surprise, it’s important to note that Nintendo Pictures had also worked on the original Death Stranding in a similar capacity, though this was before its acquisition when it was still called Dynamo Pictures.
