PSA: Beware Of Fake Switch Joy-Con Charging Grips

“I’m sure eBay will be very happy hearing about this”.

The Nintendo Switch 2 may be on the horizon, but millions of original Switch consoles remain in active use—and that means there’s still demand for accessories such as the Joy-Con Charging Grip.

Sadly, picking up one of these accessories comes with some serious risks; examples of counterfeit grips have been reported online. Along with the obvious potential dangers that fake and unregulated electronics bring with them, it would seem that these products often arrive in a completely non-functional state.

In Saudi Arabia.

Colour us a little bit surprised that a Dragon Ball game hasn’t been announced for the Switch 2 yet. Well, it seems like we will be getting Goku and friends on the Switch 2, namely in the form of the latest fighting game featuring the Saiyans — Dragon Ball: Sparking! Zero. Accessorise up.

Well, the Switch 2 pre-order circus came to town, and it was predictably calamitous.

GameStop Apparently Investigating New York Store Over Sus Switch 2 Bundle Sales

Who do SKU think you’re kidding?

An Emmy award-winning audio engineer has taken to social media in order to call out his local GameStop store, which he claims has been attempting to force expensive Switch 2 bundles on its customers in an attempt to cash in on the high demand for the console in the US.

As first reported over at The Shortcut, Elea Tsentzelis, who has worked as an audio engineer on the likes of MTV’s recent Family Legacy, and won an Emmy as part of a sound team on ‘The Daily Mail’, posted that his local GameStop in Astoria, New York, was forcing unwanted screen protectors and other such accessories on customers who had rocked up hoping to secure one of a small amount of units available at the location.

Opinion: Switch’s Secret Best Couch Multiplayer Game Won’t Be Playable On Switch 2

Don’t let this gem disappear unloved into the long dark night.

After eight years of articles and YouTube content covering the Switch, you might think there are no surprises left to uncover, but I’m here to say that the very best couch multiplayer on the system – a game by Nintendo themselves – was completely missed by seemingly everyone on the planet. There’s barely any mention of it online except for my own desperate Reddit posts trying to find someone who agrees with me.

What’s more, due to the peripherals it came packed with, it’s currently very difficult to buy – and it’s also one of the only games Nintendo have listed as being unplayable on the Switch 2.

Doug Bowser: There’s no specific time you “must launch video games”.

Nintendo has confirmed the Switch 2 will be arriving on 5th June 2025, but why exactly did it choose this specific month?

Speaking to NPR recently, Nintendo of America president Doug Bowser revealed some of the reasons behind this decision – explaining how there is really no specific time frame as to when you “must” launch video games, or a console in this case, and both the hardware and games were “ready to launch”.
