“I Can’t Afford To Give It Away For Free” – Silksong’s Low Price Is Causing Devs To Re-Evaluate Their Own Games

Managing expectations.

After an exceptionally long wait, Hollow Knight: Silksong is out now on the Switch and Switch 2, and perhaps one of the most pleasantly surprising aspects of its launch is its price.

You’re looking at $19.99 / £16.75 / €19.99 / ¥2300 for the new release which, given the sheer length of its development and presumptions around its runtime, seems very reasonable indeed. Some folks, however, think that Team Cherry has legitimately priced the game too low, and therefore may be distorting players’ expectations regarding what a $20 game should look like (thanks, Eurogamer).

Ubisoft Employee Explains Why Star Wars Outlaws Is A Game-Key Card

And it’s seemingly got nothing to do with cost.

Star Wars Outlaws, released on 4th September 2025, is the latest in a long line of Switch 2 titles utilising the Game-Key Card physical release.

It’s safe to say that most folks are under the assumption that cost is likely the driving factor behind the use of the Game-Key Card medium, with Nintendo supposedly only offering 64GB cartridges to third-party developers.

PSA: Pokémon YouTube Channel Airing Pokémon 3: The Movie This Weekend

The first three movies are free to watch.

Back when Pokémon was taking off in the late ’90s, trainers around the globe were treated to the very first anime movie. It stars Ash, Pikachu and their friends, as well as a Pokémon battle “like never before” featuring Mew and Mewtwo.

If you’ve never got around to watching Pokémon: The First Movie, or just want to revisit it, the official Pokémon TV channel has now uploaded the entire film on YouTube. This will apparently be viewable for a “limited-time” and will be followed by Pokémon: The Movie 2000 and Pokémon 3: The Movie.

Review: Star Wars Outlaws (Switch 2) – An Underrated Adventure, A Super-Solid Port

Your lack of faith is disturbing.

I find myself in a bit of an unusual position with Star Wars Outlaws on Switch 2 in that, having already played through the entire thing and reviewed it for our sister site Pure Xbox in 2024, I feel like I’m getting a quick second chance to see if my 8/10 score was justified. Spoiler alert: it was absolutely justified. So that’s that bit sorted.

I was a little surprised when the reviews dropped for Massive Entertainment’s take on the Star Wars universe because, for my money, they’ve actually outdone Respawn in a few critical ways. As much as I love the Jedi series, it does feel like a great big Star Wars rollercoaster that throws all the stuff you expect to see at you as you careen through at high speed. It’s like climbing and fighting on a big film set. And that’s fine.

IO Interactive Stuck Daniel Craig’s Head On Agent 47 To Pitch 007 First Light

007-47?

Judging from the recent gameplay reveal, IO Interactive’s 007 First Light is looking pretty marvellous, and it’s heading to the Switch 2 on 27th March 2026.

Now, in speaking with IGN, game director Hakan Abrak has revealed that IO managed to secure the video game rights to James Bond in a rather amusing (albeit not entirely surprising) way. Essentially, the studio took the (digital) head of Daniel Craig, the most recent actor to portray Bond, and stuck it on Agent 47’s body from Hitman: World of Assassination.

Switch Online’s ‘Nintendo Classics’ library has this week been expanded with Forsaken 64 and the Japan-only release, Magical Vacation. Although the GBA title hasn’t been made available locally, the app here has received an update, bumping it up to Version 3.0.0.

Firstly, the official banner and icon for this app have been updated – swapping out the ‘Switch Online’ branding for ‘Nintendo Classics’. Apart from this, there’s reportedly been some added “functionality” including button remapping options along with 1080p support in handheld mode on Switch 2.
