Two days remain.

We are rapidly approaching the big Switch 2 Direct on 2nd April, and Nintendo is ensuring the hype train is fully stocked and ready to leave the station as it has just shared a new image of the console via the Nintendo Today app.

Now, the vast majority of us will likely see this image tomorrow when the regional clocks tick over to the ‘One Day To Go’ message that the app has been counting towards in recent days, but thanks to the magic of timezones, those in Japan have already caught a glimpse of the fresh snap.

Feature: “It’s Nothing Like A Port” – Story Of Seasons Head Talks Remaking A Lesser-Known Favourite

Totally Bazaar.

Marvelous announced the next title in the beloved Story of Seasons series during last week’s Nintendo Direct, and we’re sticking with the remakes! But this time, we’re diverging from the undisputed classics and going a bit off-piste.

Story of Seasons: Grand Bazaar launches on Switch on 27th August 2025, and it’s a remake of Harvest Moon DS: Grand Bazaar, which came to the DS in 2008 in Japan, and 2010/11 for North America and Europe. It’s not one of the most well-known entries, and it’s not even the next game after the previous remake, A Wonderful Life, but it’s getting a brand new art style and plenty of new features all the same.

Poll: What Review Score Would You Give Xenoblade Chronicles X: Definitive Edition?

X/10.

Recently, we crossed one of the last remaining Wii U winners off our Switch port list thanks to the arrival of Xenoblade Chronicles X: Definitive Edition.

We’d waited a long time to extol the virtues of this excellent entry to people who never picked up a Wii U, and the wait, thankfully, was worth it. PJ awarded the Switch edition an ‘Outstanding’ 10/10 in his review, calling it “an absolute must-play” that ranks “up there with the all-time great sci-fi RPGs”.

Mini Review: Rendering Ranger: R2 [Rewind] (Switch) – A Novel Run ‘N’ Gun/Shooter Hybrid That’s Finally Affordable

Now rendering.

Rendering Ranger R2‘s original release is a layered story of mystique and intrigue. Developed by Manfred Trenz of Turrican fame, it was only ever released in Japan after its American and European incarnation, Targa, was cancelled. With only 10,000 copies produced, it’s one of the rarest Super Famicom games and by far the most valuable.

An unusual run-and-gun/shoot-em-up hybrid, its graphics were switched in beta from traditional spritework to a pre-rendered flavour in an attempt to capitalise on the Donkey Kong Country wave. Its platform stages play much like Contra, dropping Turrican’s sprawling layouts for more linear fare, while its shoot-’em-up sections play similarly to Thunder Force. Action-packed throughout, there are plenty of weapons to swap between, and you can power up your shot types through several levels. Should you take too much damage, your weapon power takes a hit in turn. You have three bombs available that function differently depending on the weapon you’re using, and interestingly they operate on a reheat basis, meaning the game allows you to be quite liberal in their usage.
