Mini Review: Locomoto (Switch) – On The Right Cosy Track, But Has A Few Train Faults

Tickets, please.

I thought Locomoto would be the perfect game for me amidst the Switch 2 chaos. With all the excitement of opening new games and speeding around the track in Mario Kart World, I needed something much slower, calmer, and cosier.

And, for the first five hours, Locomoto slotted into that role perfectly. You’re the conductor of your own train which you use to ride across a surprisingly sprawling countryside setting, populated by anthropomorphic characters. It’s Animal Crossing-meets-train sim, but with a focus on community building and quests.

“Maybe I should start calling them chunks?”.

June 5th marked the launch of the Nintendo Switch 2, but that very same day (or the day before on other consoles), the highly anticipated continuation of Deltarune, in Chapters 3 and 4, also hit digital shelves.

If you’ve had the chance to catch our review, you’ll know we fully believe this Undertale “follow-up” is worth the new price of entry too, even if there are three more chapters to go. With big games like Mario Kart World and Cyberpunk 2077 ready and available for play, I’ve instead chose to sink more time into the indie darling that is Deltarune. It’s silly yet simultaneously serious world and characters have their hooks in me and it’s all I find myself thinking about night after night.

EA’s CEO, Andrew Wilson, has somehow managed to find himself $5 million richer than usual this year, according to the latest Proxy filing by the company.

As reported by Stephen Totilo over at Game File, the extra cash on top of an already very nice annual income, flies directly in the face of how the general population of workers for the company are being renumerated. This is all bad, however it has made for a rather amusingly shaped graph, so silver linings and all that.
