Nintendo surprised fans this week with the reveal of F-Zero 99, a new twist on the orignal SNES classic that throws 99 players into a single race to determine who will be the last machine standing.

It’s a neat throwback to the original that follows in the footsteps of Tetris 99 and PAC-MAN 99, and fans so far seem to be quite enamoured with the fresh spin on the F-Zero franchise. Even Tatakya Imamura, one of the key developers on the series until his departure from Nintendo, has expressed his love in a recent post on X.

Shin chan: Shiro Of Coal Town Is Bringing More Holiday Adventures To Switch

Receiving a worldwide release.

Revealed during yesterday’s Japanese Nintendo Direct showcase, we got a first look at Shin chan: Shiro of Coal Town — another holiday adventure game in the same vein as Me and the Professor on Summer Vacation, which stole our hearts last year.

This one will be released in Japan this winter and publisher Neos has confirmed that the game will also be getting a worldwide release at a later date.

Splatoon 3 Version 5.0.1 Is Now Live, Here Are The Full Patch Notes

Changes to the DLC and more.

To kick off the latest Nintendo Direct, Nintendo confirmed the Splatoon 3 story DLC ‘Side Order’ would be arriving in Spring 2024.

That’s not all though – the game’s just been updated to Version 5.0.1. It’s obviously not as big as the 5.0.0 update, but there are still some DLC adjustments and fixes.

Early Tech Analysis Suggests Paper Mario’s Thousand-Year Door Remaster Runs At 30FPS

It was 60FPS on GameCube.

It seems the visual upgrades in Paper Mario: The Thousand-Year Door for Nintendo Switch may come at a cost. An early tech analysis by Nintendo World Report seemingly reveals the new version of this turn-based RPG classic will target 30FPS.

This analysis is based on the Nintendo Direct video upload and it apparently isn’t “an issue with the trailer simply being rendered at 30FPS”. It may come as a surprise to fans of the original GameCube classic, as the 2004 version ran at 60FPS. In saying this, it might not be all that surprising if you played the newest entry Paper Mario: The Origami King, which was also capped at 30FPS.

The long rumoured and expected September Nintendo Direct has been and gone like a flash of lightning, and those 40 minutes certainly flew by for us.

The dust is settling and while we’re fully ready to share our overexcited thoughts, let’s round up some of the highlights. Splatoon 3‘s DLC, Side Order, is coming in Spring 2024 and it looks pretty darn amazing. the GBA and DS are having a moment right now with remakes of Mario vs. Donkey Kong and Another Code (a bundle which contains both the DS original and the Wii sequel). Princess Peach’s new video game finally has a title — Princess Peach: Showtime! – and a release date of March 2024. And Wave 6 of Mario Kart 8 Deluxe‘s DLC is bringing back some fan-favourite characters this winter.

n a Nintendo Direct full of nostalgia, remakes, and returning Nintendo IPs, one of the highlights was a brand new strategy RPG from Japanese developer Vanillware — Unicorn Overlord.

When the trailer dropped and we saw the studio’s stunning hand-drawn visuals, we knew we were in for a treat, and when the gameplay kicked in, we couldn’t help but think of the Ogre Battle series. there will be over 60 unique characters to recruit and build up an army to help you fight against fate — a daunting prospect, for sure, so you’ll need all of the help you can get.

Mario Vs. Donkey Kong Brings Some Platform Puzzling To Switch Next February

Here we go!

Revealed in today’s Nintendo Direct showcase, we got our first look at an upgraded Mario vs. Donkey Kong, which leaps onto Switch on 16th February 2024.

The game will see the age-old rivalry reignited next year. Donkey Kong has stolen all of the Mario Mini toys and it is up to you (Mario, obviously) to get them back.
