Pokémon TCG Pocket’s Next Booster Pack Is All About Ultra Beasts

There’s an Extradimensional Crisis coming.

Pokémon Trading Card Game Pocket isn’t slowing down anytime soon, and we have yet another Booster Pack coming to the game next week, on 30th May 2025 — or 29th May at 11pm PT.

This time, it’s all about the Ultra Beasts — which debuted in Pokémon Sun & Moon — in Extradimensional Crisis expansion. 100 brand new cards are coming to the game, which include new ex cards, Trainer cards, and Ultra Beasts such as Buzzwole, Nihilego, Blacephalon, and Guzzlord.

Randy Pitchford Defends Borderlands 4 Pricing Comment

“It’s getting gnarly out there, you guys”.

Gearbox Software’s Randy Pitchford found himself in hot water recently after making a fairly tone deaf comment regarding the potential price of Borderlands 4.

In response to concerns that the game may well be priced at $80, Pitchford simply stated that “if you’re a real fan, you’ll find a way”. It’s not a totally egregious comment in some respects, but the insinuation that those who perhaps can’t afford the game aren’t so-called “real fans” definitely rubbed folks the wrong way.

Nintendo Store Outlines Switch 2 Launch Events For New York And San Francisco

“First come, first served”.

We’re getting closer to the Switch 2 and Nintendo has now revealed its plans for the launch events at its stores in the US.

If you’re planning on heading to either the Nintendo New York store or the newly-opened San Francisco store, you’re going to want to show up on June 4th. Entry to both events is “first come, first served”.

Yooka-Laylee Dev Playtonic Is The Latest Studio Hit By Layoffs

Others are “at risk” of losing jobs.

A handful of staff at UK-based studio Playtonic, best known for creating Yooka-Laylee and for forming the indie publishing label Playtonic Friends, are sharing messages on social media as they have been made “redundant” at the developer.

We were first alerted to the news by a Bluesky post from former community manager Steve James, who left the company just two weeks ago (on his own terms).

Danganronpa Creator’s “Multi-Genre” Game Is Out September, And It Sounds Absolutely Wild

Ready to join the Shuten Order?

Here we go, then — after last week’s teaser, we now know that Shuten Order, the next game from Danganronpa creator and The Hundred Line: Last Defense Academy‘s co-director Kazutaka Kodaka is launching on 5th September 2025. The Steam page went live earlier today (thanks Wario64) with a trailer and some screenshots.

While publisher Spike Chunsoft has yet to drop the news itself, it has been teasing an official reveal on its YouTube channel, with the latest video saying “2 remaining”. Sounds like Steam went live a little early. Thankfully, Gematsu has uploaded the trailer for us.

Pokémon scalpers going to insane lengths just to secure a new card collection isn’t anything new, but this story might just be the craziest we’ve heard for a while (thanks for the heads up, Polygon).

Reddit user Expensive_Age_3406 took to the r/GameStop group last weekend to share their experience of trying to nab the latest Prismatic Evolutions Super Premium Collection — a new bundle spun out from the immensely popular Eevee-focused set. As we’re sure you can imagine, it doesn’t sound like the most pleasant experience.

New LEGO Mario Sets Starring Wario, Captain Toad & Prince Florian Land August Release Date

First look at the all-important prices.

Earlier this month, LEGO lifted the lid on a fresh batch of upcoming Mario sets featuring a whole bunch of familiar faces. Today, those sets have finally cropped up online, giving us a closer look at the builds as well as the all-important price and release date.

The big news is that all of the following sets will launch on the LEGO website on 1st August 2025. The bigger news is that it finally sees the debut of LEGO Wario (bum chin and all). There’s also MiniFig debuts for Captain Toad, Mario Wonder‘s Prince Florian and a Wonder Flower-ed Bowser Jr.
