Grip it real good.
Skull & Co. released a very nice NeoGrip for the OLED Switch back in 2021, which we reviewed at the time, coming away with the impression that, beyond a fiddly holding tab that could potentially get lost, the grips helped make long portable sessions much more comfortable.
With this Switch 2 update, the Savage Raven by Skull & Co. NeoGrip for Nintendo Switch 2, which falls under the same ‘Savage Raven’ banner as the company’s excellent Switch 2 carry case (which we’ve also reviewed!), not much has really changed.

Devs started thinking about moving to Switch 2 in 2021.
In a recent interview, developers Kenta Motokura and director Kazuya Takahashi from Nintendo confirmed that Donkey Kong Bananza was originally intended for the Switch 1.
In a new Ask the Developer feature, fresh screenshots have been shared that shows the visual difference between Switch 1 and Switch 2 for Bananza, with Kenta Motokura, Wataru Tanaka, and Daisuke Watanabe all providing more context as to why development was shifted over to Nintendo’s new console.

Though how successful it will be remains to be seen.
Nintendo has seemingly taken steps to combat so-called ‘eSlop’ on the Switch 2 – at least in Japan and some regions in Asia.
In a report from IGN, Nintendo has implemented new guidelines for publishing on the Switch 2 eShop, most (if not all) of which appear to be targeting the relentless proliferation of low-quality ‘eSlop’ games. “Announcements are coming”.
As you’ve likely seen by now, there’s a new rumour from the latest Nate the Hate podcast about a Nintendo Direct potentially taking place some time after the launch of Donkey Kong Bananza.
In the same episode, the YouTuber and podcaster has touched on the subject of future third-party support for the Switch 2, and how although it might not look like there’s much on the way beyond the initial announcements, there are apparently multiple developers holding back reveals (potentially for Nintendo’s broadcast).

Movable feast.
The world is an unpredictable place, full of strife and economic instability. So, there will always be room for another cosy city builder.
Swiss developer Stray Fawn Studio sticks to the genre formula but delivers a charmingly fresh thematic twist. The Wandering Village casts you as the steward of a tiny community, striving to survive on the back of a gigantic creature that quite literally wanders a post-apocalyptic wasteland.

Not long now!
Are you excited? Because we are excited! Yes, it’s getting mighty close to the return of everyone’s favourite video game ape, and to celebrate Nintendo has posted a little movie on its social media (and to its Nintendo Today app, naturally) to remind us all that there are precisely three days to go until the launch of Donkey Kong Bananza.
Nice! We hope DK gets over that rather crushing blow in time for our adventures later this week, though.
