Atooi’s Switch Game Hatch Tales Is Finished, But It’s Been Delayed Again

“We know this last minute delay might be frustrating”.

We’ve got some good (and bad) news for anyone who has been waiting for the arrival of Hatch Tales on the Nintendo Switch.

Firstly, Atooi’s Jools Watsham has announced development is finally complete in the latest Kickstarter update. However, there’s been one more “last minute delay”, due to a whirlwind of activity this month. The developer is now “on the cusp” of submitting the game to Nintendo for its “final approval”, so expect another update soon:

Poll: Box Art Brawl: Contra: Hard Corps / Probotector

Hello everyone, and welcome back to another edition Box Art Brawl!

We had a doozy of a brawl last week as we looked at The Legend of Zelda: A Link to the Past and Four Swords for the GBA. You folks really surprised us with this one, though: we weren’t too keen on the Japanese box art for this, deemed it to be fairly busy in comparison to the others, but your votes are the ones that matter, and so Japan won the day with 47% of the vote. Europe came in second place with 29%, and North America managed 25%.

Fantasian Neo Dimension Rated By The ESRB

Square Enix is publishing this enhanced version.

During Nintendo’s June Direct, Square Enix announced an enhanced version of Mistwalker’s turn-based Apple Arcade RPG Fantasian on multiple platforms including the Switch.

FANTASIAN Neo Dimension (from the creator of the Final Fantasy series Hironobu Sakaguchi) has now been rated by the ESRB, and it’s revealed a little bit more about what to expect from this new enhanced release. The game was also previously locked in for a ‘Holiday 2024‘ launch on the Switch – so it seems it’s still on track for this window.

Zelda: Echoes Of Wisdom amiibo Functionality And Compatibility Revealed

Here’s what you can expect.

Back in June, it was discovered The Legend of Zelda: Echoes of Wisdom would include amiibo support. We’ve got a little bit of extra information revealing how exactly amiibo functionality will work in the game.

This information comes from the official Japanese game website, and according to a translation, amiibo will unlock useful items for Zelda’s adventure, as well as different colours of clothing.

Trombone Champ: Unflattened brings the tooting simulator to virtual reality this autumn

I’ve got a real soft spot for Trombone Champ, a rhythm game about tooting along to music that works perfectly with the mouse. I’m also a huge fan of Beat Saber, a rhythm game in which you slice at blocks that whizz towards you in VR.

Minecraft’s multiplayer Realms servers have been down since its last patch over three days ago

Minecraft‘s Realms servers have been down for most of the past four days. Mojang’s official account for reporting service status updates noted that “intermittent failures or slowdowns” began on August 13th, and despite similarly intermittent reports of uptime in the days since, the servers remain inaccessible to most players today.

Talking Point: What Are You Playing This Weekend? (17th August)

Lucky, lucky star.

Wheeeeey, the weekend’s here again, which means it’s time to pop on our most comfortable slippers and get some gaming done.

Looking back on this week, the most interesting piece of news (well, “interesting” in an oh-god-when-will-it-end kind of way) was that the ‘Switch 2’ likely won’t be launching until after the current fiscal year, which ends March 31st, 2025. This seems pretty obvious when you think about it, but it’s still nevertheless noteworthy if you’re someone who’s literally counting down the days.
