That Time I Got Reincarnated as a Slime Isekai Chronicles: city-building gameplay details

The game has a plethora of elements offering a unique experience for fans and newcomers alike, such as thrilling battles and new storylines directed from the series’ original author. We’re excited to share an in-depth look into the city building features that give you the ability to grow your community from a small village to a great nation.

Create your own Jura Tempest Federation

To quickly recap the series, the Jura Tempest Federation was founded by Rimuru Tempest and was originally a small goblin village before expanding into a great nation that many species called home. In this game, you will be able to create your own Jura Tempest Federation alongside a lively cast of characters.

As you progress through the main storyline and recruit new allies, you can unlock a variety of buildings that can be placed in your own community. There are also unique buildings inspired by Rimuru’s memory from the world before his reincarnation (into a Slime!) that you can choose from as you plan out your city’s development.

Choose from a variety of building types

As you expand your Jura Tempest Federation, take advantage of Tempest Resonance which gives different facility effects that boost character stats for you and your allies as you construct various types of buildings. Facility effects range from increased attack power, reinforced defensive stats, enhanced luck rates, and more. While there’s a variety of buildings to choose from, here are a couple of options that may help you in your adventures.

The Kaijin Weapon Shop and other Kaijin-affiliated buildings like the Weapon Stand and Weaponry all provide an increased ATK boost for you and your allies, giving you the extra strength needed to finish off challenging foes in your next battle.

The Hot Springs enhances the Luck for one character randomly between you and your allies, determined by different conversation patterns within the Hot Springs. Improving your Luck rate will increase your chances to obtain more luxurious items from treasure chests during exploration. Also, who wouldn’t want Hot Springs in their own city if they had the chance?

Gain helpful resources for your journey

Along with facility effects that boost character stats, some buildings provide an additional benefit of producing goods and materials that can be sold, allowing you to earn more gold to construct other buildings.

The bee farm, also known as the Royal Apiary, not only provides a facility effect that boosts Luck rate, but also regularly produces honey which can be collected and sold for gold.

Similarly, there are farms and ranches that produce wheat and beef worth selling for gold to help fund your construction plans for the next building.

Forge your city with a playful spirit

You can’t have a great nation without having some fun! Add unique locations like Veldora’s park to your Jura Tempest Federation which has an amusement park look to it along with other locations such as the Game Pavilion and Rimu Burger for residents to enjoy. Don’t worry, these buildings aren’t just for show, they also provide Luck boosts to your character and allies for a higher chance at luxury treasure chest items in your next exploration.

As you progress further into the story and develop your city, there are several sub-quests that reward you for constructing specific buildings. In the Cinema sub-quest, Gabiru and his team need your help to build the nation’s first cinema – build the Tempest Cinema and receive a generous reward of level experience and gold!

Are you ready to start building your own Jura Tempest Federation?

Enjoy the reincarnated life of an all-powerful Slime as you expand your Jura Tempest Federation and work together with allies to make the nation a better place for all its residents. Start building your own nation today in That Time I Got Reincarnated as a Slime Isekai Chronicles on PS5 and PS4.

Super Mario Party Jamboree Is Up for Preorder

A new entry in the Mario Party series is heading our way. Super Mario Party Jamboree is set to release exclusively for Nintendo Switch on October 17. It comes with over 110 minigames and supports up to 20 players in online competitions. Better yet, it includes a free three-month membership to Nintendo Switch Online (individual membership). It’s available to preorder now from a variety of retailers (see it at Best Buy). Read on for the details.

Preorder Super Mario Party Jamboree

No special editions have been announced, so the standard one is all you can get. If you’re holding off to preorder from Amazon, you might not want to do that. Recently, physical copies of Switch games have been appearing on Amazon at launch rather than becoming available to preorder beforehand.

Super Mario Party Jamboree Bonus

Preordering (or buying) Super Mario Party Jamboree gets you a free 3-month individual membership to Nintendo Switch Online. An NSO account is required to play the 20-player online Koopathlon mode, which should be pretty cool. It also gets you access to cloud saves, a bunch of NES and SNES games, and more.

What is Super Mario Party Jamboree?

The Super Mario Party series dates all the way back to 1998, in the halcyon days of the Nintendo 64 era. The series has come a long way since then, so long (and with so many entries) that they stopped numbering the new installments after the 10 one, which came out on the Wii U. And that’s just the console entries — there were even more on Nintendo’s handhelds throughout the years.

Jamboree is the third Mario Party game on the Switch, and it’s the biggest one yet. Announced during the June 2024 Nintendo Direct, it takes place on an island resort. It has seven boards, including new ones like a racetrack-themed one called Roll ‘em Raceway and a shopping mall one called Rainbow Galleria. It also has a few favorite boards from previous games. With over 110 minigames, it’s the biggest Mario Party game yet. It has a number of play modes, including a 20-player online Koopathlon, which has you duke it out for a high score against more players than ever before in the series.

WolfEye’s new first-person RPG is “an evolution” of Prey and Dishonored featuring mechs, magnets and a continuous world

WolfEye’s debut game Weird West attempted to pack a little of Dishonored‘s immersive sim sorcery into a top-down action-RPG. For the studio’s next game, co-founders Raphaël Colantonio and Julien Roby are leaning into comparisons with their old endeavours at Arkane more earnestly. The new game – currently untitled and without a release date – is a first-person sci-fi RPG set in an alternate-1900s North America, which ostensibly combines the ingenuity and gadgetry of Dishonored and Prey with a “real RPG” experience redolent of Skyrim and modern-day Fallout.

Sliding Hero turns a contentious puzzle type into an otherworldly jaunt through a cursed Venetian carnival

I’d initially assumed that puzzle game Sliding Hero counts was a Sokoban-like, until I realised that it’s actually you, not endless boxes, that do the sliding here. Still, I wasn’t entirely convinced. The only thing that’s fun to slide back-and-forth indefinitely is a lounging cat on a smooth kitchen worktop. Still, after messing around with Sliding Hero’s Steam demo, I think this one might have much longer legs than its restrictive-sounding concept suggests. All the better to endlessly slide with.

When Should You Buy a Nintendo Switch?

The short answer is that you should buy a Nintendo Switch whenever there’s any kind of sale, regardless of the time of year. Amazon will likely offer the same console bundles on any other sale as it will on Black Friday or Amazon Prime Day, so there’s no real reason to wait if you’re in need of a Nintendo Switch.

That being said, there are sometimes some unique bundles and promotions during Black Friday that you won’t find any other time of the year. They usually includes additional games (like the infamous Mario Kart 8 bundle) or Switch accessories for free, but quantities tend to be limited. As always, do your research into the seller before you make a purchase and keep in mind that the Nintendo Switch 2 is coming out next year.

At some point every proud ruler must ask themselves the question: what should I do with all this stupid, tiresome civilisation I’ve built? Round Up: The First Impressions Of The Borderlands Movie Are In

Here’s what the critics had to say.

The live-action Borderlands movie arrives in cinemas this week and the first impressions are now being shared online. We’ve rounded up some of these posts to see how it’s being received so far.

Admittedly, it doesn’t seem to be going down very well, with some suggesting it could be the “worst movie” of 2024, but there are some more positive reactions floating about. This new adventure features an all-star cast made up of Cate Blanchette, Jamie Lee Curtis, Kevin Hart and Jack Black as Claptrap.
