Hello folks, and welcome to another edition of Box Art Brawl!
Last time, we looked at Donkey Konga 2 for the GameCube; a rather lovely sequel that never quite became the hit it deserved to be. In a classic three-way brawl, Japan came out on top with 47% of the vote, but goodness, it was close. North America just missed out with 46% of the vote – oof! Europe sadly lagged behind with just 8%.
The Switch 2 has been out for almost a month now and while Nintendo already shared an official chart confirming the compatibility of certain Switch accessories, our American-based senior video producer Zion Grassl has now gone a step further with a video reminder.
He’s been testing various first and third-party Switch accessories with Nintendo’s new hybrid system and has now shared this handy video of what does and doesn’t work on the Switch 2. There’s even some stuff that kind of works, but still has some setbacks. If you want the full rundown, check out the video above.
One of the many Sega games released alongside the Switch 2 at launch was Puyo Puyo Tetris 2S.
Although it arguably didn’t offer much for returning players, there was a new camera feature allowing you to superimpose your face during gameplay. It seems there were some display issues with “certain” USB cameras, but this now been resolved in the latest update.
Square Enix released a lot of amazing games during the Switch generation and if you’re wondering how many work on the Switch 2, it’s now shared a list highlighting all of the Switch games that are compatible with Nintendo’s new hybrid system.
So, here’s this extensive library of Switch games you can play right now on the Switch 2 – covering series like Final Fantasy, Dragon Quest, and much more. And while these games haven’t necessarily received any dedicated updates, you might find some of them run better on the new Nintendo hardware.
Yes, yes, you’re reading that headline right. Yet another Battlefield 6 leak has taken place, if you can believe it, showing 15 whole minutes of the game that we all know exists but hasn’t really been shown off in an official capacity. This follows on from the leak in March, and even just last week, which might have confirmed the presence of a battle royale mode. This latest leak offers something new though: the return of Rush mode, a mode that’s appeared in a number of previous Battlefield entries.
You can put the Terraria in Palworld, but can you put the Palworld in Terraria? Well, uh, yes, apparently. Earlier this week Palworld’s Tides of Terraria update was released unto the world, adding in things like fishing, a new trust mechanic, and obviously some Terraria themed bits like monsters to fight and items to get. Now, in a post shared on the Terraria forums, a new look at the survival game’s next update, version 1.4.5, showed off its own Palworld update.
This Legend of Zelda canvas wall art is the perfect gift for any Zelda fan. It recreates the timeless Great Wave off Kanagawa by Katsushika Hokusai, but with a fun Wind Waker twist. It’s the same exact art, but now Link and the King of Red Lions are sailing in the foreground. It’s silly, fun, and a great mash-up of the famous painting and one of the best Zelda games of all time. If you’re looking for a great Legend of Zelda gift for yourself or the Nintendo fan in your life, this is definitely worth considering.

There are 16 different versions of the print, with five main configurations. There’s regular gallery wrapped, black-framed, 3-piece, 4-piece, and 5-piece versions to pick from, so you have plenty of variety to find the right one for your nerdy interior decorating. Each of the divided versions come in medium and large versions, and the gallery wrapped and black-framed styles come in five sizes.
They vary in price between $39.99 and $29.99. The 24 by 18-inch gallery wrapped version is 7% off, now at $69.99 while the 4-piece medium is also 7% off, bringing the price to $129.99.
Now is the perfect time to pick one of these up, since The Legend of Zelda: The Wind Waker has gotten a second wind (nailed it) on Nintendo Switch 2. You can access the game on the Nintendo Switch Online GameCube app along with Soul Calibur 2 and F-Zero GX, with many more to come. The Wind Waker is one of my personal favorites, and we gave the 2002 original a 9.6, saying that it’s “a masterful achievement — a shining example, in fact, of how video games should be made and a case study for developers wondering what makes a compelling game”.
Arc System Works are a developer who more likely than not, you’ll think of as a fighting game studio. I wouldn’t blame you, they’re the folks behind Guilty Gear, BlazBlue, Persona 4 Arena, all really beloved fighting games. That doesn’t paint a full picture though, and in a showcase held yesterday, they showed off a bunch of upcoming games, some of which they made themselves, others they’re serving as publisher for. And not one fighting game in sight! Which plenty of people made comments about, but I think those people maybe need to play anything other than a fighting game for once.
Back in April, Stray Gods: A Roleplaying Musical developer Summerfall Studios launched their Kickstarter for Malys, a roguelike deckbuilder where you play as a “former priest turned demon-hunter” that certainly looked quite atmospheric. This is the same studio co-founded by Dragon Age writer David Gaider, so it’s not like they came out of nowhere. However, it fell a bit short of meeting its goal, something that quite often guarantees that death of a game. Except it just launched into early access this week. Go figure!
I thought Locomoto would be the perfect game for me amidst the Switch 2 chaos. With all the excitement of opening new games and speeding around the track in Mario Kart World, I needed something much slower, calmer, and cosier.
And, for the first five hours, Locomoto slotted into that role perfectly. You’re the conductor of your own train which you use to ride across a surprisingly sprawling countryside setting, populated by anthropomorphic characters. It’s Animal Crossing-meets-train sim, but with a focus on community building and quests.
