Star Trucker’s anniversary update adds wheel and joystick support to the space lorry sim, plus speed cameras

Star Trucker, Raw Fury’s answer to what Euro Truck Simulator might look like in the year 3000, is now a year old, and has celebrated that fact with an update that finally lets you whip out your wheel and pedals.

Ever since I gave it a go with a controller prior to letting my Game Pass subscription crumble into dust, this is a day I’ve yearned for. After all, what good are truck sims, be they Euro, American or something more Snowrunnery, if you’re not operating the controls of your great metal haulage beast by flicking flappy gearbox paddles, or sawing away at a circle clearly designed for something a bit sportier?

Humble has plenty more to offer right now, too. If you’re a big reader, you can scoop up all of the Murderbot books there for $18. Or if you’re looking for more games, Humble is also offering a stellar bundle of LEGO games called the LEGO Worlds Collide Bundle, which nets you $499 worth of LEGO games for as low as $15. That’s an excellent deal, and well worth jumping on before it’s all done.

Review: Star Wars Outlaws (Switch 2) – An Underrated Adventure, A Super-Solid Port

Your lack of faith is disturbing.

I find myself in a bit of an unusual position with Star Wars Outlaws on Switch 2 in that, having already played through the entire thing and reviewed it for our sister site Pure Xbox in 2024, I feel like I’m getting a quick second chance to see if my 8/10 score was justified. Spoiler alert: it was absolutely justified. So that’s that bit sorted.

I was a little surprised when the reviews dropped for Massive Entertainment’s take on the Star Wars universe because, for my money, they’ve actually outdone Respawn in a few critical ways. As much as I love the Jedi series, it does feel like a great big Star Wars rollercoaster that throws all the stuff you expect to see at you as you careen through at high speed. It’s like climbing and fighting on a big film set. And that’s fine.

Hollow Knight: Silksong is out now on Steam – our review is on the way

Hollow Knight: Silksong has officially buzzed across the thin red line between “entirely hypothetical object of mass hysteria” and “existing videogame that you can play on your PC”. Team Cherry’s new metroidvania is live now on Steam and GOG. You can actually buy it with your actual money. Should you buy it? Sadly, I don’t yet have a Hollow Knight: Silksong review for you, because Team Cherry have decided not to distribute any codes in advance. If you’re reading a Silksong review right now, the reviewer is either a worryingly close confidant of the developers or a filthy bloody liar or some other, totally innocent third thing.

Sulfur demo out today on PS5

Surprise! The Sulfur demo is available today on PlayStation 5.

Sulfur is a fast-paced FPS roguelike where guns evolve, enemies mutate, and cooking is as important as shooting. To celebrate the release, we’ve put together a new trailer and the Top 5 things you can do right now in the demo. Almost everything you see in the new trailer can be played for free in the demo today!

Sulfur demo out today on PS5

1. Customize your weapons

Loot isn’t just about firepower, it’s about personality. Pick your favorite weapon out of the 20+ unique guns available in the demo and use strange scrolls to transform them into something completely new. Rechamber a revolver to fire 12 gauge shells, enchant a SMG to launch railgun bullets, or equip an automatic shotgun with a laser sight and hunting scope. Construct cursed firearms with enchanted projectiles, bouncing bullets, or anything else you can think of. In Sulfur, every aspect of your firearm is modifiable.

2. Cook food you didn’t know you wanted

Between fights, toss scavenged ingredients into your cauldron and see what happens. Some foods give bonuses only when cooked, others can be consumed raw. Experimentation is half the fun! Once you discover a new recipe, it will automatically be stored in your recipe book for quick crafting in the future.

3. Explore ever changing levels

After each death or extraction, the caves are randomized. Progress deeper with each new life carrying more upgrades and wisdom. Reach deeper floors to uncover more secrets. Encounter strange NPCs, scarier enemies, and random ambushes. Each time you descend, the caves change. Strange NPCs, new ambushes, deeper secrets – no two runs are the same. And remember, your life is only as valuable as your gear.

4. Manage your loot like your life depends on it

Because it does. Your bag never feels big enough for everything, which forces tough choices. Do you carry an extra gun, collect armor sets, or save room for more trinkets? Most of the equipment from the full game has a chance to drop in the demo. End-game gear is extremely rare but can be obtained if you’re persistent (or lucky). Barter with NPCs to get more stuff for your stash. Even in the demo, you’ll get a taste of late-game chaos before the full release.

5. Outsmart enemies

Since Sulfur is a roguelike FPS, each run teaches you something new, whether it’s a recipe, or a weapon combo that works – one you’ll swear by, or one you’ll swear over. Even if you lose all your uninsured items when you die, the church’s collection box will return some money to keep you afloat. Find out what works for you and reequip yourself by trading with the vendors at the church.

The new Sulfur trailer shows all this in action, but nothing beats trying it yourself. Download the demo today on PlayStation 5 and step into the world of Sulfur!

See you there!

Magic’s Lord of the Rings Commander Decks Are Finally Back in Stock at Amazon, and Some Are Even Discounted

Magic: The Gathering is on the verge of introducing a new Spider-Man set, but prior Universes Beyond sets aren’t being forgotten.

Aside from the unlikely team-up between a Warhammer 40k Tyranid and Sonic the Hedgehog, our all-seeing eye(s) have spotted that the Commander Decks from 2023’s The Lord of the Rings set have popped up at Amazon again.

Clearing old stock, or a fresh printing? It’s hard to say, but with two of the four decks discounted, it’s worth a look.

Lord of the Rings MTG Commander Decks: Back in Stock at Amazon

Over at Amazon, you can find all four decks available, although one—The Hosts of Mordor—is way higher in price.

This Sauron-helmed deck is very fun to play, but whether it’s worth just shy of $90 is up to you.

Thankfully, other options are a little cheaper. Riders of Rohan, a deck we picked as one of our picks for the best decks around right now, is $49.92 at the time of writing.

Looking for an aggressive, combat-heavy deck? This is a great choice, albeit one thats not discounted.

What is discounted are both the Food and Fellowship deck and the Elven Council one. The first, which stars Frodo and Sam and has a life gain theme from sacrificing food tokens, is now $48.59.

Finally, Elven Council has Galadriel, Legolas, and Arwen, and is now just $45.87. It has a nice reprint of Heroic Intervention in there, too, while Raise the Palisade still fetches a decent price.

Each pack comes with a couple of cards in a ‘Collector Booster Sample Pack’, too, meaning you can find some nifty foils and borderless treatments, too.

Helldivers 2 hotfix tackling some Into the Unjust update crashes out now, and Arrowhead are looking into PC freezing

After rapidly declaring that they were looking into action the other day, Helldivers 2 developers Arrowhead have released a hotfix aiming to rectify some of the crashing that’s affected players diving Into the Unjust.

Unlike the giant worms I’ve still seen hide nor mandible of, it didn’t take the studio long to address reports of an uptick in technical issues for the shooter following the update’s arrival on Tuesday. Here’s hoping that these fixes’ll help keep thing a bit more stable.
